Local Church - San Luis Obispo (CA)

5 /5 Brooke Vice: I am really happy to say I have been going to Local Church for almost eight years. In that time, I’ve had a lot of big life changes, and I’m really grateful to have had the people at Local be a part of my life through it all. When I first started looking for churches, I definitely wasn’t expecting to be as involved as I have become at Local, but I am really grateful for it. As the years have gone on, I’m becoming increasingly convinced that the pastors and leaders and members of this church are all looking to do the best they can for people and to bring Jesus to people. Its actually been pretty amazing to see so many people wanting to do SOMETHING for Jesus by sharing his message and engaging in discipleship. It has inspired me to be a better me, and to have a deeper relationship with God. Since going here, the church has also started a second church in Santa Maria, which is such a great example of the heart that this church carries for people and their community. Definitely recommend coming to this church and getting to know some of the people here, I’m glad I did. Edit: updated the name of the church to Local in my review:)

5 /5 Kristina Do: I love Local Church! The Pastors and the leaders have really helped me grow in my faith and helped me to intentionally live my life for Jesus. We are one big family learning to love God and others better! The people are passionate, genuine and loving. I have made some life long friends at this church who I know will be there to love me, guide me, encourage me, and support me through life. Local Church truly lives out the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel and making disciples for Jesus. Our heart is for every person to know the love of God and what it can do in your life!

5 /5 Alex Vice: Local is a great church and the people genuinely care here. This church is all about discipleship, and growing closer to God. My experience with church prior to Local, was poor at best, but when I was new here, people wanted to get to know me and genuinely invited me into their lives. They remembered my name and actually seemed interested in who I was. I had never felt more welcomed by strangers, and I would tell there was no outside agenda. I have since joined a cell group (small group) and have leaders that I actually respect and look up to. They are not living a life of double standards and really try to practice what they preach. Local Church has become a real family for me, and has helped me to see that Christianity is more than just "checking off a box" once a week. Not really sure what other people with negative reviews are talking about here, but I would genuinely encourage you to check it out!

5 /5 Jordan Talley: I love Mercy Church! I came about 6 years ago as a brand new christian, not knowing much about who God was, but now feel confident in my identity as a child of God. I am glad to be at a church where i am always learning and being challenged to go deeper with the Lord through sermons, classes, and small groups. I am so grateful to be surrounded by a loving and genuine group of people, especially our Pastors Terry and Denise, who have set a great example for me in personal relationship with God, leadership, marriage and raising a family. Mercy Church will forever be my family.

5 /5 Shelly Young: Though I am not from SLO, my daughter and son-in-law are a part of this wonderful church community. I have become a very welcome and spiritually supported, “remote” part of this community as well, and look forward to my visits and attendance at the events they host. So many wonderful friends here! The pastors, the messages, and the worship have been life changing to me and have helped lead me back into active relationship with God. I am grateful that my daughter discovered Mercy as she began her college days here. The experience led to her to a caring and supportive “family”, and has helped to shape the beautiful young woman she has become. I would encourage you to visit Mercy Church and experience the positive, uplifting welcome and loving support you are sure to receive!!
