  • What Clients Are Saying about Family Life Church (on GG)
5 /5 Frank Guiles: I’ve seen amazing healings and testimony in my two years in the congregation. Melvin Hale is truly sent by god to spread the gospel and the good news of Jesus!!!! That church is amongst my closest experiences of connecting with God!!!!!
5 /5 Debbra Fink: I have been going to FLC for over 15 yrs....Pastor Haile is such a caring, loving spiritual Father...The entire Haile Family are wonderful...The Church is full of loving people. I can have a close relationship with Jesus here in a very nurturing atmosphere...Religion is NOT preached here...freedom to love and serve our God IS...No judging...just a lot of prayers for all who come to change...God Bless!!
5 /5 Bethann Sleek dawson: I found this church, through my husband. Inr rr appreciated it more till I had nowhere and no one else to turn to. Im loyal to this church. They are good to me.
5 /5 BTS A.R.M.Y: The Family Life Church is one of the best churches you will ever find it helps me better understand my purpose if you are looking for a church i definitely recommend The Family Life Church to everyone.
1 /5 Chris Eoff: I was raised in this church, 1994 - 2007. My mom ran the youth group back then. Pastor Haile and his family took advantage of her work, took advantage of my family, and even when we were in the deepest starving hole of poverty, continued to encourage my parents to tithe 10% weekly to “God” (the Hailes). God is not a man. God is not a building. God is within you. Don’t let these extremists take advantage of your beautiful heart, faith, or family. Family Life Church drained the life out of my family, created an unsafe space for my siblings and I to grow/learn about spirituality, and instilled bigotry and hatred into all that walked through their doors. You and your family deserve better. God is more than rules and restrictions. God is love. Love your family right, don’t bring them here.

Kyle Nichols: Been going here since I was a little kid what a great church.

Chris Brownlee: Although mostly older Christians, the pastor, staff and congregation members will welcome you wholeheartedly. Although, in this age of identity theft and such, I cant (as yet) post things such as the friendly fellowship that goes on every Sunday (and other days of the week too), here is the most genuine love and concern for the visitor and newcomer I have come across in a "brick & mortar" church in my 30+ years as a "new creation". And the advantage of an older congregation is the years and years of practical experience LIVING the Gospel. Its more than book smarts here, its true Christian maturity. Although I "work" here, I speak from a position Timothy must have first felt when sent by the apostle Paul. I was one of the youngest here (other than the grandkids in Sunday school and Nursery), yet this church was like the flip-side of what the 1st century Tim encountered in his calling. These people are more like the Bereans of Acts, who thoroughly check that what anyone taught them was true to the scriptures (In fact, at BBF, this is actively encouraged!) If you live in or near Chico, California; are looking for a church of genuine, true-to-the-core FOLLOWERS of Christ, and like the traditional hymns and time tested songs of the faith, stop by any Sunday. Youll always feel welcome. The church is currently in transition, looking for a new pastor (health and age cause Pastor Cheney to retire). Please pray for our board to make a wise decision.
    Truth Church - Chico
Richelle D.: It sounded nice when I first stopped by. But was stopped by the door. I have a 15 pound LEGAL emotional support dog. I have been all over this country with her in church’s. She sits on my lap. Well A guy at the doors said NO. I am nervous to try something new by myself. This is what she is for. Me. I was looking for a new home church.

    City Light - Chico
Lyndsie Lawry: City of Light is a great place to bring your family and friends. I am not a religious person and was invited there for a Sunday service. The pastor and people were kind and friendly. They had great musical performances as well. It was a relaxing, modern, family-oriented church experience.
Pleasant Valley Baptist Church - Chico
Kwade Conner: I truly feel at home at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. From the moment I walked in, I was met with genuine love, warmth, and kindness from everyone. The sense of community here is something special—it’s not just a church, it’s a family. What stands out most is how the Word of God is preached. It’s clear, powerful, and easy to understand—no personal opinions added, no watered-down messages. Every sermon is rooted directly in Scripture, presented exactly as God intended. That’s rare to find, and it’s what makes this church so impactful in my life. I’m incredibly thankful to be part of a church where truth is preached boldly, love is shared freely, and Christ is glorified in all things.

Elle Crossley: Loving and caring people. Very helpful.
Trinity United Methodist Church - Chico
Jerry Clark: Trinity has the kindest, most charitable spirit for giving comfort and shelter to the homeless all winter. They go out of their way to check in and sometimes volunteer at the shelter. They are truly the best of Christians.
