    Oakland Zoo - Oakland
    Oakland Zoo
Jeff Meyer: A very nice zoo with large environments for animals from around the world. There are also some great views across the bay. Reasonably priced tickets, but buy online at zoo website. Be sure to take the gondola up to the higher California trail level for some great views as well as native California animals. We saw eagles, condors, buffalo and a wolf. Unfortunately the bears, grizzly and black , were hiding. The Australia exhibit is only accessible by taking the small train, which is an extra $6 per person. We had to wait for an emu to be shooed off the tracks. Plan carefully as they close early, 3PM on weekdays.

    Joaquin Miller Park
Vishruth Rao: This park is close to my home, and I often go there for a trail walk on the weekends. I was pleasantly surprised by a few viewpoints where you can see the skylines of both Auckland and San Francisco; it was very enjoyable. You can easily spend a couple of hours there, have lunch in the park, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up the hill to the space center, which is called the Job Space Center. It’s a fun park where you can spend an entire day. There are numerous trails to explore, making it a great place for families, friends, or even dogs.

Neal: Decent park with grassy area, benches, playground, and all gender restroom. There were some homeless people camping in tents when I went and the grass looked like it could use some maintenance. The restroom isnt anybodys idea of clean, but it was functional. The grass is a great place to sit on a warm day.
