    Monica Garls: I came in and said that something keeps draining my battery (e.g. parasitic drain) and I asked if they could diagnose it. They said yes. After less than an hour, they said that there is no problem, and that my battery is drained. They only checked that charging system and starting system, which I already had checked by AAA. Diagnosing a parasitic drain takes a lot more time, and if they werent going to do it, they should have just said so. So now Im out $140 only for them to tell me what I already know. I really feel that they owe me a refund.

    Belinda Ramsey: Ive been taking my car to Sam Lee Auto for 10 years. I have always been happy with the service and the fair prices for repair. Today, I took my car in for an oil change even tho I wasnt feeling well. I showed John the paperwork for a smog test needed to renew the registration and asked if they were able to do that as well He told me to leave it on the seat and said he would help After the oil change, John sent one of his guys in my car to get the smog test! I couldnt believe it! They paid for it with their own money and I paid them back. What service! They really helped me out today and I will never forget it.

    Dave: Wanted to find a new local mechanic (Pacific Beach area) for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. M&C Auto kept showing great reviews on sites I looked at so decided to give them a shot at the end of May 2025, when I had a coolant leak issue. They got me in the same day I contacted them, diagnosed the problem right away, which was a radiator leak. Quoted me a replacement and labor price which was way under other shops. Vincent, the shop manager, was great at showing me all that they did (system was flushed as well). Carlos was also helpful in keeping me informed of the work done. I definitely have found my new local auto shop!

One of our previous cars, a LandRover RangeRover, had some decidedly difficult issues with the sensors precluding us from passing CA Smog Certification.... they were able to get the system updated through multiple drive cycles. Definitely worth coming to check out.
