Magical Bridge Playground - Palo Alto Mohammad Adnan: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Great Park with Excellent Amenities
This park is fantasticāvery spacious, clean, and well-maintained. It offers easy wheelchair access, making it inclusive and comfortable for everyone. There are restrooms and drinking water available, which is always a big plus. Whether youāre going for a stroll, a picnic, or just want to relax in a big open space, this park has you covered. Highly recommend for families and all visitors!
Best park ever!
Has lots of swings and rides.
Pearson-Arastradero Preserve - Palo Alto Luke Paulsen: Had a great hike here in late April. Grass was green, wildflowers and birds were all over the place. A full loop of the preserve (my preferred route) is about 6 miles and fairly gentle by Bay Area standards. This isnt pristine nature by any means; its sandwiched between a horse pasture and a golf course with mansions along the rest of the perimeter, and there are power lines along the creek trail for some reason. But none of that spoils the scenery and the easy accessibility is one of this places big virtues. Expect to have to hover for parking on nice weekends, or park at Page Mill and Arastradero and add an extra mile each way.
Palo Alto Art Center - Palo Alto Gabriel Young: A place to view and participate in art making. Its a lovely building right next to the riconada library. It has both inside and outside exhibits. Inside are adult and child studios where people can go to make different forms of art. I saw people painting and making pottery. The childrenās exhibits are really cool. Outside are different pieces, many from an artist who used trees as his main material. Its really something.
Rodin Sculpture Garden - Alexander Ingram: Beautiful small sculpture garden accessible to the public. āGates of hellā are a standout
Arizona Garden - Donna & Matthew Photography: This location was absolutely perfect for our coupleās engagement session! With its wide, open spaces and diverse variety of cacti, it offers a unique and beautiful setting. The lighting here is stunning, making it an ideal spot for photos. Itās also easy to find and access, with a charming little stroll thatās worth exploring even outside of a session. We always love coming back here!
Mitchell Park - Palo Alto Hasan Ahmed: We went to Mitchell Park on a Saturday and spent some wonderful time there.
Magical Bridge Playground is truly one of the standout play areas in the area! Parents can relax in the shaded section equipped with benches and tables while their children explore the diverse range of attractions, including roller slides, steep slides, regular slides, and various spinning contraptions and swings.
The park also offers amenities like artificial grass and cardboard pieces for sliding.
Adjacent to the playground is a library, providing convenient access to bathrooms and a quiet spot for reading or decompressing. Ample parking makes it easy to access, and the parks spacious layout includes volleyball courts, a dedicated childrens area, and plenty of open grassy spaces for picnics.
During our visit, we encountered a vibrant mix of park-goers, from moms pushing strollers to high schoolers enjoying volleyball, and even dog walkers. Observing the diverse tapestry of life in the park was quite fascinating, highlighting the beauty of nature and community.
Given the excellent weather and the parks natural charm, were already planning our next visit. Its a wonderful place to celebrate the outdoors and everything nature has to offer.
Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University - Stanford C G: This museum is free, easy to navigate, and fun for kids. The collection is diverseāeverything from ancient artifacts to contemporary piecesāso thereās always something interesting to see. The building itself is beautiful, elegant, spacious, and clean, and staff (volunteers) are quite helpful and friendly.
The outdoor sculpture garden is a highlight, especially for kids who need to move around after looking at art indoors. Itās a great balance of culture and fresh air. You could easily spend a whole day here, and since admission costs nothing, the only expense is parking and coffee, - if you visit the small cafe.
Great place for a laid-back visit, whether youāre into art or just looking for something different to do.
