5 /5 Cecilia bode: Such a hidden gem! I was awed by how much information the tour guide had, and although the main exhibit is still in the works I was completely amazed! The number of authentic artifacts and one of a kind specimens was unmatched, dating back to even thousands of years old fossils. This is perfect for history lovers and learner alike! I would suggest calling in advance because it is still in the works!

5 /5 Gary Standke: Only open from 1-3pm. Ancient adobe is great condition with some of the original hardware. Great to see how people lived in the 1800s. The only adobe I have ever seen with a dormer in the roof. Originally just one large room with fireplaces on both sides. Later 2 wooden walls installed to divide it into 3 rooms. It has changed so little in such a long period. A recreated horno is outside. There is also a red one room school house, a ranch hand one room house, and another building undergoing reconstruction.

5 /5 Dale Bartoletti: James Perry guided us through the adobe, the old school house and some of the archives. Dawn Avery showed us around the development of the grounds In all. . Fascinating tour that will require a return very soon.

Salas Json “J-Gante”: We absolutely love this play yard, park area food our 3 year old daughter. It is completely fenced in, has injury free flooring and the bathrooms are well kept. Networking with the other parents was and is awesome to do! To let your child make friends and enjoy the ample space to roam is great for the kids. We usually take snacks and water for the kids. Its never a dull moment when here, laughter and smiles are in abundance!

Salinas River National Wildlife Refuge -

Darrell Stanaford: 5* for nature & serenity, 3* for isolation & lack of amenities. A little visited spot just off Hwy 1 with beautiful wetlands and isolated endless beach running north to the mouth of the Salinas River. No toilets, water or trash cans. Parking reached via dirt road (1 km) that can be impassable after heavy rain (offering the option of adding a muddy extra km to your hike). Sign says open sunrise to sunset.

Delilah Brunke: This definitely is NOT a swimming beach, but the wildlife and view of a more tumultuous coast is pretty darn cool. The sandy path to the beach is a jaunt, especially for kids, and the fact that some people bring horses and other animals and dont clean up after them ON the path isnt great. But its worth a visit to sit and see the ocean.

Robert Chubb: A nice beach to take young children, there is a wading area at the Carmel River. You can join them or easily watch the kids. There is also a walking trail that takes you along the bay and you can see many picturesque beaches.

Gary: Beautiful beach. Clean and clear water. Beach is dog friendly with plenty of room for the kids and dogs to run around. This is now one of my favorite beaches.
