5 /5 David Weintraub: This is in response to Toto Thom, and also my own experience.
NOTHING this person had to say is anything close to what Ive experienced.
First off, Dr. Joness office has always been great with me, both with follow-ups and in offering advice post visit. His treatments have been accurate and helpful.
The ONE time he asked me to get follow-up blood-work done, which did cost me a bit more, was after my numbers were higher than we expected they should be. It was because of what I had eaten the previous week, and specifically, the day before. Upon eating a cleaner diet for a couple of days, my numbers were completely in line with what he expected, and my lifestyle. Did it cost me a bit extra to find this out? Sure it did. But is that his fault? Absolutely not. I could have continued my life, assuming my cholesterol and other numbers were way off, and assumed I was unhealthy. I was happy to find out the real information.
And all of the above is no fault of Dr. Jones, but rather the nature of medicine and insurance in this current era. He was completely correct to suggest I go back for blood-work again.
That said, when I did have an insurance related issue, Dr.Jones called me personally and walked me through all of the steps I would need to take in order to minimize the damage from the insurer. That unless I tackled them head on they were not going to relent, and that if I made these phone calls I would avoid a lot of extra bills. He was 100% correct. He also told me to call him with an update if/when I resolved the problem, or if I was having more problems.
In this day and age, considering the free time a doctor has, and how this had ZERO EFFECT on his bottom line, it was an extremely considerate and classy move.
I know everyone has different experiences with different people; I get that. But based on what I know about Dr. Jones, the conversations weve had, dealing with his staff, and the general sense of things from my perspective, hes not only a great doctor, but hes actually a better person.
Cheers.
