3 /5 Lillian: Vallarta Mexican restaurant in Placerville, CA, serves up comfort classic Mexican food. Great customer service and consistent food flavors.
Simple, understated restaurant giving off 1980s vibes. They can accommodate largish party of diners, but it is recommended to call ahead to verify. The staff is welcoming. The restaurant has a separate bar and dining area. The food is hearty and filling. Safe seasoning and flavors..For dine in, they provide complimentary chips, red salsa, and hot bean dip. They have signature dishes of molcajetes. Impressive sight to behold of a huge molcajete (mortar bowl) filled with chicken, steak, shrimp, and veggies served in hot melted queso or hot creamy Chipotle sauce. Huge serving size. Being lactose intolerant, I have never tried it. But the sight of it always makes me pause and gawk and wonder what it tastes like. My go tos are the shredded beef and chicken crispy tacos. Simple traditional flavors. They have lunch specials offered during the week that run about $12.50. Non lunch specials- one entree combination plates run around $12.50, two entree $16.50, and three $19.50.
