5 /5 Clare Stubblefield: Weve been wanting to try The Sloughhouse Kitchen for awhile now. We stopped in for a late lunch today and were sorry we waited so long. The restaurant is in a historic building that was once a hotel and stagecoach stop. The inside is charming and spacious. There is a beautiful deck for outdoor dining. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered off the brunch/lunch menu and decided on the Italian sausage panini and the smoked salmon panini. The Italian sausage and smoked salmon are made in house. Both came with a green salad, breakfast potatoes, and an egg cooked to order. The pininis were both delicious, as were the potatoes. The salad was simple but fresh. My fried egg was cooked to perfection. What a delightful surprise that this gem of a restaurant is so near to Rancho Murieta! Its definitely worth the trip from anywhere in the Sacramento area. We will definitely be back, cant wait to try dinner with one of their signature cocktails.
