The Owl Tavern - Grass Valley (CA)

5 /5 Woods Wesley: We stopped in during a road trip after a family friend suggested it, and were glad we did! The staff were very friendly, attentive, were able to get us a nice booth, and gave some great recommendations on food and drinks. Food came out at a good pace for our party of three, and we really enjoyed our starters of French Onion Soup and Texas Twinkies. For our mains, my wife ordered the Sea Bass, and my mother and I got the Ribeye-- both of which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. We all forgot to take pictures because we couldnt wait to eat them, but I would say my steak might be one of the best that Ive had here in California. And then for desert we got Crembrule, Affogato, and their Apple Pie Cheesecake dish which were all very delicious! We all had plenty to take home for leftovers, and Im still thinking about that steak a few weeks later... So for a first time visit, we were happy with the food and service, and plan on stopping by again!

5 /5 Leigh Schwartz: This is now one of our favorite places. We were in Grass Valley and decided to have dinner at The Owl Tavern. There were a lot of great looking places but the atmosphere drew us in. We went early so they were able to seat us without a reservation. Our server was friendly and served us well. I ordered an old fashion and it was one of the best Ive had. A little sweet but with herbal tones creating a great cocktail. For our appetizer we ordered the Texas Twinkie not really knowing what to expect. It tasted great! The dish was creative and unique. Our main courses were steaks, I had the ribeye cooked perfectly with garlic herb butter. My wife had the teriyaki baseball sirloin. Both were cooked to order and were delicious. I would highly recommend The Owl Tavern.

5 /5 Mary P: Tried to eat here August 19th but they were closed (closed Monday and Tuesday). I really wanted to try their Texas twinkies and wedge salad after picking up my olive oils a couple doors down! I have been coming here for years with many different venues trying to survive. The Owl has always been known for great steaks! Cozy atmosphere and bar seating as well. WILL TRY AGAIN WHEN OPEN!

5 /5 Reilly Gandell: My favorite spot for a cocktail and dessert! Rotating selections of both, recently had the Dublin yo Luck (super tasty!) from their bearded bartender with glasses. The wedge salad is my go-to lunch splurge. Cozy atmosphere, great downtown location, with fun and efficient staff. Perfect for special occasions or just killing time while boppin around GV.
