5 /5 Maya Seagraves: Shekamoo Grill is my FAVORITE PLACE to get food in slo. All of the food there is sooooo flavorful (it’s nice to go somewhere that actually uses spices). Everyone there is so nice and put up with all of my questions when I first went to help me get exactly what I wanted. They are super open to questions and clarifications if you’re feeling undecided. Also as a college student who is balling on a budget it is really nice that they have varied portion sizes to fit your budget. I usually get the bowl because it’s 6 dollars cheaper than the plate and it’s plenty of food!
My favorite things to get are the koobideh (I’m not really a meat person but I love it), the loaded potatoes (TO DIE FOR), and the chocolate pistachio cheesecake. For an order-at-the-counter spot, it sure feels like I’m dining at a restaurant.
I love bringing my girlfriend and my friends here because a lot of them are gluten free, dairy free, and/or vegetarian and the menu is super friendly to dietary restrictions.
Bonus! The owners are such kind people who you can tell really care about food, culture, and sharing with the community.
