1 /5 Divesh Bansal: I visited Red Hot Chilli Restaurant (Fremont) based on the positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing.
The service was casual and unprofessional from the start. The server did not seem to take his role seriously while taking our order and repeatedly addressed us with “boss… what else… what else,” which in itself was tolerable, but it reflected a lack of basic service etiquette.
We ordered Gobi Manchurian as a starter, which arrived with a burnt taste and was not served hot. While I initially gave the benefit of the doubt, the issues continued with the main course.
For the main dishes, we ordered Hakka Noodles, Schezwan Fried Rice, and Coin Veg Manchurian. The fried rice was served completely cold. When I raised this, the server said he would replace it, but what came back was clearly the same dish reheated, which made the taste even worse. I have never experienced a restaurant serving reheated food instead of freshly prepared food.
When questioned, the server was not apologetic and casually mentioned that it was reheated “in the fryer, not the microwave,” which completely misses the point. When we dine out—especially at an expensive restaurant—we expect fresh food, good service, and a pleasant dining experience, not reheated leftovers.
The overall behavior of the server and the lack of accountability made the experience even worse.
Bottom line: I would strongly not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a quality meal or a good family dining experience.
