4 /5 Danial Peck: Stopped at the last moment in Yuba City. Parking is limited. As you enter the strip mall restaurant, you are directed to seat yourself. You are then brought a basket of tortilla chips, which taste store bought, and a small bowl of red salsa.
My wife and I ordered Al la carte carnitas sopes and small asada tacos (I called the street tacos). The food was served fresh. At other establishments, the sopas were like hockey pucks. However, here they were fresh, soft, and delicious. The carnitas had a great flavor. As for the ‘small’ tacos, they were smaller than normal, but tasted great. They came with a lot of meat, onions, cilantro, and green sauce. I asked for the green sauce to be put on the side so I could try the taco with the red salsa. I personally like the red on the asada. I’d add cabbage to escalate them.
The service was basic, nothing overboard. I had to ask for more water only when the check was brought. I believe the customer service side could be stepped up.
The atmosphere was really inviting with respect to the Mexican environment. They even had Mexican music playing.
