4 /5 Dustin Southway: Stopped by Harney Oceanside for some sushi near the pier, and it was a fantastic choice! The place has that lively, trendy vibe. Super walkable from downtown Oceanside spots, and the staff was welcoming and attentive right away. We ordered: Katsu Chicken — Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, with that classic panko crunch and a flavorful sauce. Salmon Sashimi — Fresh, buttery slices of salmon that melted in your mouth. High-quality fish, beautifully presented.

5 /5 S D: My absolute favorite sushi place. I like coming on Sundays from 1-3 happy hour. Perfect time of the day. We always have the same waitress who is phenomenal. She suggests rolls based off some of our liking. Cant say enough. I come in from Arizona and never leave w out going harney. Excellent experience, service, and food. I would give 10 stars if I could.

1 /5 Marie P: We came in on a slow night and were seated quickly, but the lack of organization showed immediately. As soon as we sat down, servers brought another table’s order to us twice. My bento box arrived first, and then the rest of my group waited nearly 30 minutes for their sushi. One person ordered a California roll, but a table seated after us received theirs long before we did. The chicken katsu was a huge disappointment. It was fried until it was completely dry, and the sauce they served wasn’t katsu sauce at all. It tasted exactly like the salad dressing and had the same color and consistency, even though katsu sauce is supposed to be brown. The waitress said “that’s our Katsu sauce.” I order katsu often, even in Japan, and this wasn’t even close. Overall, the food and timing were off, and nothing about the experience felt worth it. Don’t waste your time here.

5 /5 Jay Curatalo: Hands down one of the best sushi experiences we’ve had. We stepped away from the menu and fully trusted Angelo, and he absolutely nailed it. His recommendation of the yellowtail sashimi, the sake, and the appetizers were all perfect—he clearly knows the menu inside and out. Angelo worked seamlessly with Ben, the sushi chef, who brought out incredible off-menu items that were unbelievably fresh and clean. We even told them how we wanted to feel after eating, and Ben adjusted the nigiri for me since I didn’t want too much rice—spot on. Can’t recommend this place, or Angelo and Ben, enough. Truly prime.
