4 /5 Tracy Kliewer: Great staff - very friendly and quick service. Food was good - my chicken in the taquitos was a little under seasoned but the guacamole was amazing. The salsa with our chips was very good with only a little kick a which we enjoyed. Good food and well priced. Would go back for sure!

3 /5 Chris Barry: Want to really like this place. Probably been here 10 times. Sometimes the service is good most of the time it is slow. Takes 45 minutes to get your food and you have to flag down servers for drink refills or additional chips and salsa. The food has always been good never a complaint about the quality or quantity of food. They have a nice back patio that is great in the summer but not always open in the winter

5 /5 Alfonso Magallon: My family and I stopped at Don Luis Mexican Restaurant on a spontaneous detour to a business meeting, and wow — what a great decision that was! I ordered a breakfast burrito, and it was hands down one of the most delicious I’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning — it’s got the fun, casual vibe of a sports bar but with the polish and elegance of a 5-star restaurant. The service was fast and friendly, and everything about the place just felt welcoming. If you’re in the area and craving authentic Spanish/Mexican food, look no further. Don Luis is the real deal. I’ll definitely be back!

5 /5 Mike Long: Though we live in So. CALIF. where Mexican restaurants are EVERYWHERE we rarely partake because very few stand out and we tend to eat lighter. But while heading home after a few days in Tahoe we detoured through Plymouth for a quick visit with friends and got back on the road at lunchtime. Hunger wouldnt let us pass through Ione unfed and opted to try Mexican food. Without doubt possibly the best tasting food the 4 of us have ever tried (and we had a timeshare in Baja for 19 years!) The simple Soanish rice was wonderfully seasoned and was a delight along with the refried beans. But the chili relleno was amazing and the beef tamale had ample masa with ample beef. All so delicious. Probably my first Mexican food in over a year and Id go back tomorrow if I was in Ione!

5 /5 Mike Picot: Vintage town has a cool vintage restaurant with cool copper menus, beautiful chips and salsa and delicious hot plates. Staff very attentive.
