3 /5 V S: A & J Ichiban is a cozy, centrally located sushi spot that offers friendly service and a decent menu for sushi lovers passing through or staying in Eureka.
What I Ordered:
Spider Rolls
Tuna Rolls
Edamame
Food Review:
The tuna rolls stood out — fresh, clean-tasting tuna with nicely prepared rice. The spider roll, while flavorful, was a bit too heavy on the fried element for my liking; the texture overpowered the more delicate components.
The edamame unfortunately missed the mark — overcooked and soggy, lacking that crisp pop you expect.
Service & Atmosphere:
What really stood out was the service — the ladies working were warm, attentive, and on top of things without being overbearing. The atmosphere is inviting, with comfortable seating for both solo diners and families.
Overall:
Reasonably priced, centrally located, and backed by great service, A & J Ichiban is worth a stop if youre in town. With a bit of refinement to a few dishes, it could easily level up.
