Latasha knighten I took my car in for an oil leak check and spent $1,236 on repairs that Matt, the owner, identified as necessary. He told me it was a big job that would take a few days. When I called him on Monday to get an estimated time frame, he was dismissive and said he would contact me. I explained that I needed to rent a car and required an estimate to extend the rental. When I picked up my car, Matt showed me the part that was leaking. However, just two days later, I noticed the car was still losing oil rapidly. When I contacted Matt to let him know, he said I could bring it back on February 22. But when I called on February 21, he claimed he never told me that and suggested I come in the following Saturday instead. On March 1, I returned for service again. When I asked about a timeframe, Matt was rude. I reminded him again that I didn’t live locally and needed to make transportation arrangements. After they finished working on my car, he said they fixed the initial leak but claimed the other leaks weren’t his responsibility. I had to send a male friend to speak with him before Matt clarified what was supposedly fixed. He had backtracked on his assurances concerning the repairs. My dad went to the shop to discuss the issues, and Matt offered a different story, insisting he never said he would fix the other leaks. My dad pointed out that since I came in for the oil leak, it was Matts job to identify and address all the necessary repairs instead of just focusing on one area that he felt he needed to fix. A couple of weeks ago, I took my car to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, and they reported rapid oil leaking, advising me not to proceed with the oil change due to multiple leaks. I then drove my car back to San Francisco to a trusted mechanic, who informed me that my car was leaking from five different areas. Ive also spoken to two other customers who had similar complaints about Golden Gate Auto not fixing their cars properly.

Fred Phillips Hats off to this shop. I had this intermittent noise in my car that two other mechanic shops couldn’t locate the cause. I made an appointment (neighbor referral) with German Car Service and Repair for B service and explained the noise. They advised upfront that it is sometimes hard to detect intermittent noises. They called to advise the car was ready and they found where the noise may have been coming from. I have been driving for 5 days and no noise. Evidently the prior mechanic shops didn’t have the expertise to know what to look for. When you walk away from an experience feeling heard and cared for is just the best. Oh yeah, very fair price.

Omar Hernandez The owner and his son run this place very well. Usually, when it comes to buying things you have to pick expensive and good or cheap and bad. You don’t have to do that here. I’ve had over 7-8 cars here for everything from having lift kits installed to timing belts, tire rotations and replacement. They’ve also serviced my heavy duty trucks and trailers when needed. Their service prices are competitive. Same goes for tire prices. I don’t go anywhere else because I know they do a great job.

Patti Page First of all I would like to say that I called over a dozen different auto repair co. And many did not even reply. Cool Automotive actually answered and offered to help. Great service! Very knowledgeable and thorough with their diagnostic evaluation on the car. Everyone told me it was my starter but because they ran several tests they determined it was the alternator. It’s now running great. Had it in and out in 1 day. They even picked me up and dropped me off while it was being repaired. I highly recommend their services.
