4 /5 Bryan Durand Miranda: This is a completely honest and transparent review, with no bias toward this gym. I’ve been a member for two weeks now, mainly because it’s close to my house, although I also considered other options like 24 Hour Fitness. Still, I wanted to try something “different.”
At the time I usually go, it’s not very crowded, so I basically have everything I need to work out. The equipment is in good condition, the bathrooms (locker room area) are kept clean, and it seems like they even offer free parking (though I always walk).
But! Not everything is positive. For the price you pay ($$$), the gym definitely needs some painting and maintenance — the walls look old, and in some areas the paint is even peeling off. Even though there are signs reminding members to clean up their space after using it, many people ignore this (at least in my experience). They also don’t put the weights back where they belong.
Another issue is ventilation. While it doesn’t smell like sweat, the air feels heavy and it gets uncomfortably hot. The men’s bathroom, while “acceptable,” only has one sink to wash your hands, which seems a bit ridiculous. On top of that, I’ve found the toilet and urinal not properly cleaned on several occasions.
For now, I’ll keep going, but I really hope the gym improves its conditions over time, because it’s definitely not cheap. In fact, if you compare it to LA Fitness in Miracle Mile, that one is less expensive and in much better shape in every way.
