his morning, I noticed a situation at the gym that bothered me. A member was using multiple pieces of equipment, and after working out, left them sweaty. Another member went to the front desk to report it—rightfully so, because equipment should always be clean for the next person.
However, what shocked me was the response from the front desk staff. Instead of addressing the concern professionally, the three employees started making fun of the member once she left. They even shared it on social media, laughing about her complaint.
This behavior is completely unacceptable. Members should feel comfortable reporting cleanliness issues, and staff should respond with respect and accountability, not mockery. Cleaning up after someone is part of the job, and making fun of someone for asking for basic hygiene standards is unprofessional and disrespectful.
