LA Fitness - San Diego
LA Fitness
Joseph Young: Equipment is newer and generally in better condition compared to other LA Fitness locations. Peak busy times are 530-6am, then 3-7pm when lines for machines may form and the gym gets warmer especially in the afternoons. Not too many wannabe influencers but some mostly later in the day. Equipment is usually clean but some patrons dont wipe surfaces down unfortunately.
Renegade - San Diego
Krystyna Coria: I absolutely love Renegade Fit in North Park! I’ve been coming to this studio since I moved here a year ago now and can honestly say it’s the best studio workout in San Diego. The classes are challenging, fun, and energizing—and the instructors are truly top-notch, and motivating. One of the things I appreciate most is how many class times are offered throughout the day, making it super easy to work around a busy schedule. The variety and consistency keep me coming back week after week. Plus, the monthly membership price is such a great value for the quality you get. Highly recommend Renegade Fit to anyone looking to stay committed to their fitness goals in a fun, community-driven environment!

Leah Orr: “I’ve taken multiple classes at this studio, and each one has been consistently excellent. The workouts are thoughtfully designed, the energy is always high, and the instructors genuinely care about helping you improve. It’s become a place I look forward to going—not just for fitness, but for the community and motivation it brings.”
War House Gym - San Diego
War House Gym
R: Good gym with good people and good vibes. What would make this a great gym is fixing the floor. Its super smooth, even slick and its impossible to get a good set up when benching. Doesnt feel safe with any real weight on the bar.
24 Hour Fitness - San Diego
24 Hour Fitness
Michael Greene: This used to be such a nice gym to attended. The men’s locker room is absolutely nasty. Poop stains in the toilet, to toilet paper on the ground. Doesn’t look like the locker room been mopped let alone cleaned since they open. Sink area along with mirrors are dirty. Water all over the floor near the water fountain. Equipment is broken. You would think with $60 yearly dues along with $40 a month you would give a more nice complete also clean gym to work out in.
Anytime Fitness - San Diego
jerry strayve: Love the professional caring spirit exemplified by the staff. I always look forward to seeing them. Training staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and the office personnel accommodating. Equipment is always clean and operational! Love it! Sabrina Rocks! Will makes us all believers!!!!
Barrys San Diego - San Diego
Megan Ellis: This was one of the best classes I have taken in a long time! Brooke is so great at what she does. Her music was bangin the structure was perfect and I am so nice and sore! I love double floor. And I LOVED for ONCE it wasnt boiling hot in there! I dont understand the no fans rule at all. I work out way harder when I am not over heating. I LOVE YOU Brooke!
The Olde Gym Fitness Complex - San Diego
The Olde Gym Fitness Complex
Tim Campbell: Best gym I have been to on any base. Very well maintained, excellent selection of equipment and the place is constantly being kept clean by the staff. My only gripe would be to replace the hoist functional trainers with something a bit better.
Landform Fitness - San Diego
Clout Slayer: Overpriced and underwhelming. $300 for a single month of access is way above what similar gyms charge in the area, especially given how outdated the equipment feels. The “no commitment” option sounds flexible but ends up costing more than full memberships elsewhere. They also eliminated day pass options, removed flexibility, and then raised prices again, which makes the value even harder to justify. Communication around these changes hasn’t been great, and the overall direction feels confused. There are plenty of gyms nearby with modern equipment, transparent pricing, and membership plans that actually make sense. I’d recommend checking those out before spending your money here.
LIV FIT Powered by Babes Bootcamp - San Diego
Alma Dukes: Liv Fit Gym has such a positive and motivating atmosphere a huge part of that comes from the amazing owners Apples and Kayla are both incredible, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping you get stronger and feel confident. Them and their amazing trainer Selena and Aliyah make every workout fun while still pushing you to do your best. If you’re looking for a gym with great energy and trainers who truly care Liv Fit is the place to be.
