Update:
Ive just checked my membership cancellation email and found that the reason stated was a “policy violation” — noted by the same manager I mentioned below.
My biggest mistake, as anyone could make, was not fully reading the policy and trusting the staffs who failed to catch my so-called “violation” for 9 months.
How judge-free and fair-minded that manager must be!
Here is my first review:
I called last year to confirm if I could video call my online PT at the gym. The staff said it was fine until yesterday. I understand there might now be some concerns about video calls. The manager kindly discussed it with me, and we agreed that having a short video call in my training area — as long as it didn’t disturb others — would be acceptable.
Later on, another staff member approached me with a rather strict attitude and gave several warnings. I’m not sure if this was part of the current training or a personal approach. Since I’ve always had positive experiences with Planet Fitness before, I wanted to share this as feedback for consistency and communication training among staff.
Unfortunately, the mixed messages between the manager and the staff made me decide to cancel my membership. I still hope Planet Fitness can maintain its friendly and supportive environment that I used to appreciate.
