Anas aMez: Update: It has now been one year and three months since I began my journey with Obstacourse. Throughout this period, I have experienced both challenges and triumphs, shaped by significant life events. I am pleased to share that I am currently in the best health I have enjoyed in over a decade—my cholesterol has decreased by 52 mg and is now within the normal range. This progress has been achieved through self-discipline and mindful choices, without formal coaching. As I reflect on my accomplishments, including reaching bronze member status and completing 150 circuit training sessions (my 1st milestone out of 4), I am grateful for the growth and resilience I have developed along the way. I wanted to share a little slice of my recent adventure. Attached youll find a photo from my 4-hour hike at Rif Mountain in Chefchaouen, Morocco. It was an incredible experience, made even more special as I got to wear my prize (“COMMIT T-Shirt from Obstacourse) from the 150-circuit training sessions. The scenery was simply breathtaking, and I felt a great sense of accomplishment both from the hike and all the training that led to it.
    New Gym -
Fullsterkur Barbell Club - San Carlos
ross: one of my favorite gyms! its private, they have some of my favorite leg machines and they are one of the few gyms that have 55lb plates, great for heavy lifting challenges!
Cañada College Athletic Center - Redwood City
Lidiane Altoe: I was really excited to join this new gym, but after just a few visits, I’m already reconsidering my decision. The space is nice and the equipment looks great in theory, but it’s so overcrowded that actually using anything is a challenge. Even during non-peak hours, its packed. Machines are constantly taken, there’s barely room in the weight area, and it feels like the gym sold way more memberships than it can realistically handle. For a new facility, I expected better planning and member experience. Unless they make changes to manage the crowd, like limiting memberships or adding more equipment, I don’t see how this is sustainable. They also have some weird rules and hours of operation that are definitely frustrating. By reading the other reviews, sounds like I’ll also have to hustle to cancel my membership …
Fitness Court at Redwood Shores - Redwood City
Star: I love this library. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great location and convenient hours. So glad that it opens until 8:00pm for most of the days.

Advanced Sports Performance & Fitness - San Carlos
Marenda Kouch: 5/5 – Love This Gym! Advanced Performance Gym is honestly the best. No matter your fitness level—beginner, advanced, somewhere in between—they make you feel completely welcome. The coaches are super supportive and actually pay attention to what you need. I worked out here through my pregnancy and came back postpartum, and they were amazing. They helped me modify everything, made sure I felt safe, and never made me feel out of place. But the real reason I love this place is the community. Everyone is friendly, encouraging, and just fun to be around. It’s the kind of gym you actually look forward to going to. Highly recommend this gym if you want a supportive, uplifting place to train!
Wild & the Barre Fitness Studio - Redwood City
Lina Voloshin: Enjoyed my first time here. Natalia was very warm and welcoming. The 50 min workout was tough! There is both bar and mat work mixed in. Luckily it wasn’t too difficult to follow for a newcomer- I signed up via classpass on a whim and was very happy I gave it a try. The studio is clean and tastefully outfitted, the skylight is a lovely and unique feature. I appreciate that they had high quality mats, weights, balls, and everything else needed for a good workout. Will try out another class!
    barre3 - San Carlos
Haley Sanchez: I have been coming to this studio since 2019 and it is one of my favorite workouts ever. (I never did group fitness before this, and now Ive been doing it for 5 years!) I love the variety of classes, the instructors, and the welcoming staff at the front desk. The studio is clean and well-managed.
FitTRAC Menlo Park Gym - Menlo Park
denmark west: Josh was great. He was friendly, engaging and encouraging. He handled a group with a wide range of capabilities and tended to each of their needs. As a new person I felt like I was put in a position to hit the ground running (mostly because I started with running) but Josh gave me what I needed to get going and checked on me at key times to make sure I was ok. It is hard to make group classes feel like individual training but this was close. I look forward to working with him again.
