1 /5 Ken Lam: Two words: RIP OFF. I wish i can give them zero star. On Friday I came to this hole in a wall jewelry store to get new battery replacement for my 13 years old Casio Pathfinder digital wrist watch. The store owner (a Vietnamese man in his 60s or 70s) asked for $10 in cash to pay for the battery replacement. Ok, cool. He brough my watch to the back of his store to work on it. He was unable to get the watch to turn back on (my watch was on & worked perfectly fine when i first brought it in his store) even with the new batteries . He told me to come back next Monday to get the watch.
I came back the following Monday to retrieve my watch. I encountered the same Vietnamese man last Friday. He asked for an additional $20 (on top of the $10 i already paid last Friday) before he handed the watch back to me. His excuses were "i had to reprogram the watch and the batteries are expensive". I ended up paying him $20 with my debit card. I paid a total of $30 ($10 in cash, $20 with card) for batteries for a digital watch only worth $80. I went home and called several jewelry/watch stores around town to ask for a quote how much would it cost them to replace battery for a Casio Pathfinder. The most expensive quote was $10.
I am out of $30 and had to wait 3 days to get my watch back. Do not come to this store if you dont want to get rip off.
