Bina Patel: One of the best decisions I made for myself. I look forward to working out each day because I love love the trainers, love the routines they all set up. Each of them is committed to bringing out the best in everyone. I have improved on overall health, strength and cardio. Made some awesome friends, best support staff at any gym I have worked out at and all led by fearless leader Lesley who keeps the ship on the right path!! Who knew I look forward to 5am class, only downside is I miss my evening trainers!!!

    Anytime Fitness
Rosa Hong: I love working out at Anytime Fitness in Carmel! It’s been more than four years since I joined. Nice location, convenient access 24/7 and lots of parking. It has comprehensive equipment for cardio, functional mobility and strength training along with spacious studio for stretching. The atmosphere is comfortable, friendly and safe. Not intimidating. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Nando is an amazing trainer. He consistently motivates and challenges me to push myself to achieve my fitness goals that I never thought I would be able to reach. James is very attentive and helpful with membership inquiries whether you want a day pass, weekly, monthly or annually. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who’s into physical fitness and wellness and seeking for a great environment to workout!

    Otter Sports Center - Marina
Chris Briano: "Otter Sports Center" aka CSUMB Gym is where The Cal State University Monterey Bay Otters play their Schools Womens volleyball games and Mens & Womans Basketball games are played. Also where student athletes get their Bumps and Bruises worked on. Aka Sports Therapy Dept.
La Mesa Village Gym - Monterey
    Seynabou Niang Seck: The best
    Pure Barre - Carmel-By-The-Sea
Theresa Clarkson: Life Changing! Purre Barre classes challenge me like nothing else - yet, the energy and passion from the instructors keeps me engaged and leveling up. It does not matter where you are in your fitness journey - this is the place to be.
    Om Studios - Monterey
Fabiola Pineda-Nguyen: I loved this place! They offer a variety of classes, including warm yoga, sculpt, barre, and warm pilates. On my days off, I appreciate that they have several classes available, allowing me to take advantage and attend at least three sessions. The instructors are amazing; they create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The classes really push you to give your best. The environment is fantastic—its aesthetic, inviting, and clean. Im definitely glad I found this place!
Sanctuary Climbing & Fitness - Seaside
Stefano Corno: Personally, I love this gym and would give it 5 stars. But it definitely has its quirks that I think knock it down, particularly for newer climbers. Pros: - Really friendly and attentive staff - Fun, creative routes that are pretty challenging too - Good variety of routes and walls - They have a moonboard and a couple of fingerboards - Nice little gym, with a rack, some benches, cario machines, and a dumbbell set - Funky holds you dont really see anywhere else :) Cons: - Grading is definitely tougher than usual, routes are maybe 1 or 2 grades below what you would expect - They have top roping gadgets, but I dont really see people use them and they mostly get in the way of the bouldering - They have a lot of weirdly colored holds, to the point where its easy to mix up routes, or one route will be made with different shades that seem like different routes - The downclimbs are somewhat sparse, although theyve definitely improved this recently with those nice pink downclimbs Notes (not necessarily good or bad): - Its a pretty small gym, and bouldering only - They do have a liquid chalk only policy, but provide free liquid chalk (and honestly I think I prefer it over powder)
    University Center - Seaside
Ta Tiana Beaird: Great place to study!
Carmel Valley Athletic Club - Carmel-By-The-Sea
N J: I would say this is a great place for a family with kids who can really take advantage of the pool. The gym is really nice as well. If youre thinking of joining for the pickleball, I wouldnt advise it. You have to get the full membership which is expensive, and they clearly dont promote pickleball much and even look down on pickleball players. I was told that they are "not a pickleball club but a wellness club". And dont confuse Refuge with CVAC. They are attached but separate businesses.
