  • Pure Barre - Carmel-By-The-Sea
Theresa Clarkson: Life Changing! Purre Barre classes challenge me like nothing else - yet, the energy and passion from the instructors keeps me engaged and leveling up. It does not matter where you are in your fitness journey - this is the place to be.
    Om Studios - Monterey
Fabiola Pineda-Nguyen: I loved this place! They offer a variety of classes, including warm yoga, sculpt, barre, and warm pilates. On my days off, I appreciate that they have several classes available, allowing me to take advantage and attend at least three sessions. The instructors are amazing; they create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The classes really push you to give your best. The environment is fantastic—its aesthetic, inviting, and clean. Im definitely glad I found this place!
Sanctuary Climbing & Fitness - Seaside
Stefano Corno: Personally, I love this gym and would give it 5 stars. But it definitely has its quirks that I think knock it down, particularly for newer climbers. Pros: - Really friendly and attentive staff - Fun, creative routes that are pretty challenging too - Good variety of routes and walls - They have a moonboard and a couple of fingerboards - Nice little gym, with a rack, some benches, cario machines, and a dumbbell set - Funky holds you dont really see anywhere else :) Cons: - Grading is definitely tougher than usual, routes are maybe 1 or 2 grades below what you would expect - They have top roping gadgets, but I dont really see people use them and they mostly get in the way of the bouldering - They have a lot of weirdly colored holds, to the point where its easy to mix up routes, or one route will be made with different shades that seem like different routes - The downclimbs are somewhat sparse, although theyve definitely improved this recently with those nice pink downclimbs Notes (not necessarily good or bad): - Its a pretty small gym, and bouldering only - They do have a liquid chalk only policy, but provide free liquid chalk (and honestly I think I prefer it over powder)
    University Center - Seaside
Ta Tiana Beaird: Great place to study!
Carmel Valley Athletic Club - Carmel-By-The-Sea
N J: I would say this is a great place for a family with kids who can really take advantage of the pool. The gym is really nice as well. If youre thinking of joining for the pickleball, I wouldnt advise it. You have to get the full membership which is expensive, and they clearly dont promote pickleball much and even look down on pickleball players. I was told that they are "not a pickleball club but a wellness club". And dont confuse Refuge with CVAC. They are attached but separate businesses.
    Coastal Movement - Monterey
Bailey Hughes: Love this studio! They offer several different types of mat Pilates classes some heated while some are not. Each and every one of the instructors and the owner, Lauren, are so friendly and welcoming. The classes are challenging and enjoyable to take, really making the workout fun. The studio is clean and the props are well maintained and organized. I would 100% recommend that you try out this studio if you have not been yet!
    Fitness Training Center -
    Josh Jessen: Good spot
    M8 Healing Arts - Monterey
Ally Wieland: I have never found a workout I have truly been passionate about until M8. I absolutely used to dread going to work out & really have found my happy place. The classes are different every time, challenging and it has been incredible to see my progress since joining. Stephanie, Pablo, Emma & Meg are fabulous and truly care about their clients. I cannot thank the owners enough for creating such an amazing experience every time I walk through the door. I cannot recommend enough!
    Ms Tryss Boutique - Monterey
Mel Manuel: Im taking classes as a beginner. My experience in Pole Level 1 classes has been positive so far- the instructors are great! Based on my experience from my first (& possibly last) Exotic Dance class, I think I would recommend this class for more intermediate level dancers. Considering the small class size, surprised that no one seemed to notice (or care) that I was new. Towards the end, we jumped straight into a choreography routine that everyone else was already familiar with, leaving me feeling lost & left out- not very beginner-friendly, or nearly as welcoming as Pole Level 1. I was expecting something different from Exotic Dance based on its online class description. Aside from that, looking forward to learning more from the other classes.
Sweet Heat Hot Yoga - Monterey
Mandalyn von Seldeneck: I love this studio! I can always count on coming here to reset and re-center. The space is clean, the practice is consistent, and Im always greeted with a friendly smile. Thank you!
