McKenzie Bradford I had such an amazing experience with Art. He really cares about the work that he does and will do everything to ensure that you get the desired outcome for your hair. I had been dealing with grown out and damaged bleached hair for a while, and he took the time to give me a consultation before scheduling an appointment since what I needed wasn’t simple. I knew from then that my hair was in good hands and the results did not disappoint. Art is also the most friendly person and makes you feel heard and cared for. 10/10 recommend to anyone who wants an outstanding and personable hair stylist!

He took so much time listening to me, making sure I felt comfortable and completely heard. He fixed the work of another salon and made me feel gorgeous, confident and sexy. He’s the first stylist I’ve met who is equally skilled at both haircuts and color. It’s also the first time my curls have been accentuated and nurtured so my natural beauty could shine through. Life is full of surprises and meeting Art has me believing in the good in the world again. Can’t wait til my next visit.

Joey Torres After 7 years of having long hair, it was getting frizzy, and I knew it was time for a change. Sara did an amazing job with my men’s haircut and eyebrow threading. She also used a clean hair treatment that made my hair look and feel healthy again, and the hair that was cut off is being donated. My girlfriend had her hair cut and styled by Naz, and it came out looking great. On top of that, they offer complimentary coffee just the way you like it. Salon Biology is top-notch—I highly recommend them!

Aubrey was fantastic at listening to what I wanted and did not want, looking at only a few inspiration photos I had and sharing her professional expertise to meet my desired state. She exceeded my expectations and delivered an amazing outcome. Without question I booked my follow up. My hair situation was; brunette who had taken hair lighter over the last few years yet let roots and grays grow out the last 6-months. The rest of my hair was brassy and orange. I didn’t think it’d be possible to leave with my hair at the blondest it’s yet to be and that I’ve been aiming for, for a few years now.

Raquel I was in LA for a concert about 2 weeks ago and had time to kill. Was feeling spontaneous and decided to get a haircut with the couple hours I had. I started googling places and all the reviews for this salon were great. I was skeptical at first from the picture of the outside but I called and Julie was able to get me in super fast. She could also quote me over the phone what her starting prices were (which I thought was too good to be true) something that a lot of salons don’t like to disclose until you’re in their chair. It was a relaxing atmosphere. The service came with shampoo and conditioner and the full haircut. Julie was so genuine and you could tell she truly loves her job. She keeps her prices affordable for the average person as myself which I appreciated so much. Please support small businesses like this salon as Julie is the owner and only stylist, it’s hard to keep busy when there’s so many other salons in LA. In the end, I came out loving my haircut and know if I’m in LA and in need of a random haircut again, I will definitely be going back.

allison robbins julie is amazing! i was looking for something local for a trim and was able to get in for a walk in. i have difficult hair and normally have bad experiences with haircuts, but julie gave me the best haircut i’ve had in years. she is incredibly experienced and affordable. 10/10 recommend, will definitely be coming back!

Ourdia hodge I am really surprised about the bad reviews. I had my first appointment at this salon today and I found everyone extremely friendly without being obsequious. The owner, Dalia, is amazing. She is truly passionate about her work. She took the time to look and assess my overprocessed hair, and was really committed to turning it around. Pia, the stylist and Lily were equally attentive and helpful. I will definitely return.

rawriorr bro Walked in for a mens cut because I couldnt make an appointment with my usual stylist at Jixo Salon in time for my event , and Im pleased to say it came out great. I was seated within a few minutes, showed some samples and discussed some options and my stylist even had some ideas and suggestions that I thought sounded great. The end result was exactly what I wanted and probably even a bit better with her personal touches. Very glad I picked the right place. And the price was excellent. Just $12 for a mens cut! Glad it just leaves me more to tip :)!

Rak Tak I love this Salon. Amina started my Locs 5 years ago. I had an Afro and she recommend the instant loc method. I was really happy with the end result. I have been going to salon daba since then for my loc maintenance. My favorite is the loc retwist. I love how nice and knowledgeable Amina and her team are. Highly recommend this shop. She’s only 4 years old, she did good but was also antsy she got tired of sitting still. They had so much patience with her and took their time with her they was very nice & deserve all the props!! Esthelle Ewusi-Boisvert Great first experience at Salon Daba! Came in to get touch-ups on my faux locs, and was able to text with them beforehand about the service. They were greatly communicative and transparent about their offerings and pricing. Once there, I didnt wait long before being seated and the stylist re-confirmed with me to make sure I wanted my whole head and not just the front retouched. I was able to let her know that my scalp was sensitive, and requested that my roots dont be wrapped too tightly. She made sure to keep checking-in with me throughout the service, and she adjusted as needed! I immediately booked a follow-up for take down in a couple weeks and will be coming here for protective styles from now on. Thank you so much!!

Kyra Andrews I decided to try this salon after seeing all the positive reviews, but sadly I did not have a good experience here. The first thing I noticed was the poor hospitality and lack of communication. I have 5 month old locs, and booked a retwist appointment, but when I arrived they were not aware that they needed to wash my hair...Strange as a loc salon, but they were able to wash my hair. Amina was my stylist. She was very rough, sprayed water in my face, and did not clean my hair at all. When I mentioned to them that my hair was not clean, they offered to do an ACV rinse, but ended up not being able to do it because they didnt know the price of it and the owner wasnt answering the phone...I got the feeling that they just didnt want to take the time to properly cleanse my hair. Then when it came to retwisting my hair, she used a lot of gel that left my scalp and strands very flaky. Not only is my hair itchy but its also flaky. Ive had way better experiences at other salons and would not be returning to this salon. I assume theyre only good to braid hair (not wash it, and definitely not to care for locs). Update: 1/8/24 - After leaving this review, the owner of the salon messaged me apologizing for my experience and offered to service me again free of charge. I thought that was a very kind thing to do and appreciated it. However, my experience was even worse than the last and I really just want to share it to prevent others from having their new locs ruined. This time, they made me wait an hour and a half to get serviced, tied loops/knots at the end of my locs (even after asking them to stop doing that), sprayed spritz in my hair, and left me looking crazy. See photos. I hope they stop advertising as a loc salon because to some people their locs are very important and sacred and to ruin it like they did to me is just unacceptable.

Moon Li Ive been coming to Theodora for years now, and every single time its been amazing! Usually after a haircut, I need to wait a couple weeks before I start liking how the cut looks on me, but thats definitely not the case here! Somi and Dennis do an amazing job at understanding exactly how I want my hair cut and styled, and are extremely detail oriented. Somi has the magic touch when it comes to hair! I absolutely adore the way she is able to bring a hairstyle I want to life, and also provide feedback on what would look better on me. Aside from styling, shes also very knowledgeable, and is able to answer questions I have about the quality of my hair. Both Somi and Dennis always go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable and that I truly love my hair before I walk out of the studio. Its always a great time whenever I visit! Tip: try to make an appointment before visiting, they can get pretty busy!

Pui Wai Fung A very efficient and enjoyable experience. Love the scents they have throughout the salon. The hair and scalp treatments are great way to reset your mind. I like how the area is darker and quiet. Kelly, I really like her, pleasant and sincere. She also helps me to translate what I want to achieve to Mr. Jacob. I finally get a good start with a great haircut and learn a few tricks from another assistant on how to set my hair higher from my scalp.

Mia Sadowski I had such an amazing experience at the salon! The entire team really made sure the entire process of getting my hair cut and color was comfortable. My hair came out feeling so soft even after dying it. I had some trouble deciding my color, but Calev and the team helped me choose a color that ultimately suites the look I desired super well. Caleb did an incredible job cutting my hair as well. I did a layered cut with bangs, and everything was well blended and cut exactly the way I wanted it to. They also provided some snacks and parking is convienently right behind the building. Great experience!

Emma Amazing service from the moment I walked in! I showed up with quite a few bags and was happy to know they had a wall of lockers where I could keep my personal items. Chanwoo greeted me and led me to have my hair washed. He said my scalp was a little dry and so he proceeded to give me a complimentary scalp treatment. What followed I can only describe as a spiritual experience of aromas and a heavenly scalp massage by Chanwoo. I wasn’t completely sure what hair style I wanted and was pleasantly surprised they had a look book of hairstyles to share with me for some inspo. Caleb was my hair stylist, he is creative director of the studio, and he is a master sculptor of hair. I am completely blown away by my haircut! His attention to detail is unparalleled. I look forward to my next cut at Hair Arca.

Sihyeong Lee I recently got a haircut at Hair Arca, and I couldn’t be more satisfied! The shop’s atmosphere made me feel like I was back in Korea — clean, detailed, and so relaxing overall. It’s one of the most comfortable environments I’ve experienced in a salon. The service was absolutely top-notch. Honestly, this was the best haircut I’ve ever had in my life! I specifically booked Caleb after seeing their name mentioned in Google reviews, and wow, Caleb’s expertise really stood out. From the equipment to the skills, everything felt incredibly professional — possibly the best I’ve experienced in the U.S. The other staff members were also very friendly and professional. Even if I can’t book with Caleb next time due to scheduling, I’d feel confident trying out services with other stylists. I also got to try their new scalp massager during the hair wash, and it was such a satisfying and unique experience — something I think is pretty rare to find in the U.S.! This time, I only got a haircut, but with this level of service, I’m already thinking of growing my hair out and trying a perm in the future. Patty and Jazmin took their time to slowly bleach my hair and do the multi tone color I wanted. I found my go-to place for amazing hair. Update: Color changed recently. As always, they did spectacular color and never shy away from the colors I want. Im currently sporting a violet+ magenta+ blue color mix. Pictures below.

Lucy A I went to this salon about a week ago. I got a hair cut and a keratin treatment on my hair. Patti cut my hair and did the treatment. She did an amazing job I came out completely a different person. She restore my confidence she completely did a whole makeover on my hair and myself. The keratin treatment is great am in love with my hair. Love the fact that now I can have my hair down and not have it in a bun all the time. After a week with this treatment and already washed my hair it’s still straight, soft, and silky. My hair looks healthy and I have gotten so much compliments on my hair. So if anybody wants to get a keratin treatment go to this salon and ask for Patti. Overall any services. She is amazing, friendly, and makes you feel welcome. During my visit, Sol was super kind and helpful the whole process. Sunny knows how to cut my hair to not only what I like, but what looks the best on me. Meijin is doing amazing job for my hair colors, hair touch-up, and highlight. When you get here, they are welcoming you and helping you to change gowns and giving you good snacks and drinks. As a man with long hair, its hard to find someone, almost impossible, that can cut your hair that looks great when cut and continues to grow out beautifully between cuts. Lisa L. Melanie did a great job with my super hard to cover gray roots. I’m a huge fan of O+M color because I don’t react to it, and the brunette color is very deep and rich. Melanie is very chill and she knew exactly what my hair needed. Plus she expertly applied the color so it didn’t stain my skin and get stuck in my earlobes. Also she is awesome at washing my hair, relaxing yet invigorating. The color looks great and she’s an expert blow dryer. Smooth, glossy, bouncy hair. Perfect!

Lilliana Graham I didn’t love my blowout. They didn’t detangle my hair before washing or with conditioner in it at the bowl or with any leave-in product after so my hair was super fragile when they wet-brushed and tugged very hard. I don’t know how you can ensure every strand is well-conditioned if you don’t at least run your fingers through a bit? Also the conditioner was in my hair for under 30 seconds. My stylist didn’t rough dry my hair *at all*. He went from sopping wet to full heat and round brush with tension. I was so worried but thought ‘maybe he’s just doing the hair around my face like this because it’s the first area to frizz’. Nope- there was no rough drying and the heat setting was on its highest for the whole head. He also dried the underside of my hair last when he was running out of time so the hair was not straight or smooth but frazzled looking. I was underwhelmed and wish I’d chosen a different salon. Also, on a customer service note, when booking, the online platform said 5pm was available but when I called, the receptionist said they wouldn’t give me that appointment because the stylist would ‘have a big gap’. I don’t know how stylists are paid or compensated and how salons manage their finances, but I found this unprofessional. Just say it’s not available period.

Kim Miyazaki I had a head spa with Sally, and it was an incredible experience. I loved that the treatment was done in a private room, secluded from noise, which allowed me to completely relax. I came in feeling stressed from work, but Sally’s skills helped me unwind completely. My scalp felt rejuvenated, and my hair was so soft afterward. I highly recommend experiencing a head spa with her—it’s absolutely worth it!
