Cheryl Fender Nice Christian high school. Thank God, you dont have to go to public school. Great foundation in Christianity, and Christian lifestyle. Not the perfect teenagers. Some of the educators, are off. Excellent academics. They let you work, as much as you would ever love.

Irfana Hashmi We had a very bad experience with New Horizons Pasadena, from poor communication (our first tour, where we were greeted by 3 people, ended with them telling us our younger daughter, for whom we were touring, was too young to start that year), to finally applying and being told that our older daughter was not performing at grade level in Kindergarten and therefore could not be admitted to First Grade. I was surprised that they were unable to understand her report card--she had 90s across the subjects. We asked the director of my older ones private school to reach out to the folks at NHS to speak to our daughters performance and they never responded to her email or our query. I found the school administration to be unprofessional and acting in bad faith. I delayed writing this review for some time because I think it is important for Islamic institutions in the West to be supported by the community. Having said that, I found this one was disappointing and it left a really bad impression. This review is not meant to be an attack but constructive feedback for the admin and advice for parents (who never have enough time) looking for a place for their little ones.

fares abdelrazig I am a student at this school for 8 years and loved every minute of it. The teachers are considerate about the homework, care about you and your learning experience. The kids are very welcoming and loving when a new student came in. I Also the Islamic, Quranic, and Arabic program are very good and informative. All the teachers will help you until you have understand the concept. Also the school is very helpful and caring. For example when i fractured my leg they put immediate care to me. And now making it easier for us. I highly recommend to enroll your child here.

NHS RULES the best. Thats what this school is. I speak what I truly feel about the school. Before I entered NHS, I was very shy and weak in character. In my previous school, I had been constantly bullied and my self esteem was low. But when I came here, everything changed. The staff welcomed me with open arms and minds, and the students were very respectful and kind to me. The school encouraged me to work hard because the teachers loved education and were flexible with me. There is so much you can do here, which only shows what your true potential is. The school taught me responsibility to tending my homework as well. My math teacher implanted the love of math in me at a young age, and I am ahead in class. The administration insures an environment where a person can fly. Thank you, New Horizon, and thanks to its tolerant and just staff. And thank you to the kind students who attend it. You have made a community that has helped me grow and will stay with me for all my life. Thank you.

Elizabeth Phillips My fifteen-year-old daughter has been taking private ASL lessons here on and off for several years. She has also taken French classes in the past. And while all the classes have been very good, it is the Zoom instruction of her ASL instructor that motivated me to write this review. The Zoom classes have been fantastic--creative, rigorous, fun. My daughter looks forward to her twice a week Zoom calls with Nancy, and enjoys her homework assignments, as well. Her ASL skills have really developed! Thanks to Nancy, Gina and the wonderful staff at PLC.

Jonathan Wu This is a review for the medical Spanish class level 1. A session is 8 weeks. Its taught once a week for 90 minutes online in the evenings, so its perfect for those working during the day. My only knowledge starting the class was the Spanish alphabet which I learned from watching youtube. The level 1 class is perfect if you dont know any Spanish. The professor is very detailed and is very patient. She really focuses on pronunciation of the words and even though the class is online, the professor really gives you individual attention and opportunities to practice speaking. The class uses 2 books and pretty much follow the book. After class, the teacher gives some homework, not too much, just a little based on what we learned. On top of that, at the end of the 8 week course, you can take a test and get CME credit! I highly recommend this course for any medical professional that have Spanish speaking patients. The intro course has taught me the ability to say basic sentences and medical terms I may need to say to patients. I have started using what I learned with my regular patients.

Dolores Sanchez I get there around 11:30 to get my grandsons laptop fixed and no one is around. Until a lady comes out of nowhere and helps us. I was not to thrilled on what she tells me that I have to make an appointment and get a ticket for the laptop to get fixed. So now my grandson has to miss 2 days of school. Not good.

Liu Rex The preschool has great facilities and professional teachers. My daughter had a wonderful two years here and has now moved on to kindergarten, but she often talks about how much she wants to come back to play with her teachers and friends.

MarcosyNerea Both our kids went to Pasadena Preschool Academy, and we couldnt be happier! Ms. Lisa and Ms. Arlene are fantastic, caring & loving, and extremely devoted to the kids. The facilities, playgrounds, and classrooms are clean, updated, and well stocked. The teachers and caregivers there are devoted to keep your kids safe, happy, entertained, and engaged, ensuring that they learn and develop to become their best selves. I wish I could give them 10 stars!!! If you are on the fence, do not hesitate to ring their door and talk to them; we did just that, and did not hesitate to enroll our kids right there and then.

Jenn Nhieu Weve had our kiddo in here for the past year and wouldve absolutely started him sooner had it not been for our ability to work from home the past several years. Over this year, hes made friends, has loved his teachers and has enjoyed going to school. He comes home telling us that hes "had a great day at school". The amount of growth that has occurred personally, behaviorally, academically and just overall has been phenomenal. This was such a great start to his schooling journey and we will miss being here!

Christie Anderson We’re so happy we chose Enchanted Castle for our 2.5-year-old daughter! The small class sizes are just right, and her teacher, Ms. Samar, is so warm and welcoming. Our daughter adores her and can’t wait to go to school each day. The kids get to do something different every day, like music, art, dance, and even language classes. It’s amazing to see her learning so much and having so much fun. This school really is a hidden gem, and all the kids seem to love it. Highly recommend it to any parent looking for a great preschool!

Tudor Tepelus My son joined Enchanted Castle last September and has been enjoying the school ever since. The teachers are very kind, skilled and knowledgeable and he has already achieved so much. The school builds a very healthy environment, the rules are clearly stated and the kids seem to know what is expected from them as they are respectful to each other, very organized and focused on their tasks. They have monthly in-house shows and other exciting extra-curricular activities such as keyboard, ballet, foreign languages, dancing classes, etc. The school is great, would highly recommend it!

G. Calof Our family was fortunate enough to discover Sequoyah (K-8) during our son’s middle school search… and he (and we) were instantly enchanted. Whereas most schools only focus on the proverbial ‘three R’s’ (reading - writing - arithmetic)… at Sequoyah, they equally embrace and cultivate the “four C’s”... Curiosity, Creativity, Compassion and Community. Ask any student, parent or teacher and you’ll hear the same answer, “There’s no place like Sequoyah” and it’s true. Because Sequoyah is more than just a school... Sequoyah is a state of mind… A sense of belonging… A feeling of inclusivity… We’re a diverse community-- An extended family. The teachers and staff, the coaches, the families, the kids... Everyone. It’s such an incredible gift to be present for and take part in our children’s time here. And now, with two kids at Sequoyah (one in middle school, one in high school), we’ve lost count of how many times we’ve said ‘We wish we had a school like this when we were growing up’… We’re forever grateful. Because these really are the years where kids get to just ‘be a kid’. And there’s no place to just be a kid… like Sequoyah.

Sarah & Jennie This is our first year at Sequoyah (we have a kindergartener) and truly feel like we won the lottery. During our school search it became very apparent that Sequoyah would be the best fit for our child. The amount of thought and care that goes into their progressive curriculum and whole child approach has continued to wow us. In daily conversations with fellow parents, we just marvel at how much growth has already happened. Each day our child comes home excited -- exploding with this new love for math and unable to sleep because hes learned to read (which feels like happened over night!). We love how the learning is so beautifully disguised in all the fun hes having and how the entire school community infuses this deep sense of pride, acceptance and belonging in him. I see if in so many ways, today it was the high five from one of the big kids at drop off and my sons grin is just priceless. We feel very fortunate and thrilled to be apart of this special place.

The best part is the strong family community, my kids have made best friends and my wife and I have made friendship with other parents. Michel is an excellent head of school, trained and experienced and dedicated. I plan on sending my baby girl there when she is 18 months. Highly recommended.
