5 /5 Asher Tessier: Proud Mary is such an important and necessary space. I’ve never felt more at home at a store. As a fat person, going clothes shopping can be a daunting and stressful experience. At Proud Mary, I was in a sea of choices for the first time in my life. To have choices as a plus size person was so empowering and the owner is a vintage sourcing wizard. Every piece was a win!! I’m so lucky to live close to this space and be able to go to the community events too. It’s not just an amazing store but also a space to commune and exist safely with other fat bodies. Oh and the accessories, silly bumper stickers, and FIRE vintage home goods just add to the beauty of the store. A must see!

5 /5 Kristina Laban: have ordered the “overwhelmed” & “bimbo” necklaces, and some fat-positive stickers all the way from Edmonton, Canada (two separate occasions) because this shop rules! such cute selection of accessories, homewares & clothing, most of which is vintage! hard to say no!

What truly sets this place apart is the owner, who creates a welcoming space for fat folks to feel comfortable and find clothes that make us feel happy and confident. Jessica often hosts events and attends pop ups to make plus size clothing visible and accessible. This is definitely the best plus size store I’ve ever been to!
