5 /5 Arameh Anvarizadeh: This review for OpenClosit has been a long time coming. I feel so strongly about this store, not just as a place to find beautiful clothes, but as a true girl’s girl community and safe haven.
After having my two children back-to-back, I found myself searching for places to rent clothes as I rebuilt my wardrobe to reflect my evolving sense of style and changing body. I’ve always loved fashion and how clothes make me feel, but after my babies, everything felt different. Between breastfeeding, changes in my body, and no longer fitting into what I used to wear, my confidence and eye for fashion felt discouraged. I was being invited to events and wanted to feel good about how I looked, but I struggled to understand my “new” style.
That’s when I walked into OpenClosit and it felt like a sanctuary.
Jo and Illiana instantly saw me. They pulled pieces that felt magical and took the time to explain how to dress for my new body in ways that felt empowering, not limiting. They listened deeply, honored my vision, and made me feel beautiful. With each visit, they understand my aesthetic and vibe more and more. It feels intuitive, thoughtful, and personal. They just get it.
The moment they truly nailed it was for an inaugural speech I gave in front of 6,000 people. I wanted to look sophisticated, fly, and timeless and they delivered 100%.
What makes OpenClosit even more special is the genuine sense of community. I felt a true sense of belonging there. Their heart and mission are reflected not only in how they serve each client, but in how deeply they love and show up for the community.
I was in the store the day of the Palisades fire. We could see the smoke without realizing the devastation that was to come. OpenClosit went on to single-handedly lead relief efforts out of their store on multiple occasions. That level of service, leadership, and care is rare.
This female-owned space where everyone is welcomed, celebrated, and supported is a place I will give my business to over and over again. I truly can’t say enough about how special this place is. It’s a gem in Santa Monica and a beam of light for the entire city.
They helped me regain my sense of identity through my love of clothes, and as a new mom, each visit helped me rediscover a new sense of beauty. I am forever grateful.
Oh, and not only are the clothes stunning, but the music vibes are impeccable. Just go. See for yourself. Get blessed by their sense of style, convenience, and genuine kind spirits.
