1 /5 Alex Goebel: They sold me a fake!! I was really excited to visit this store while traveling in the Bay Area and purchased a bag they claimed was a 1980s vintage Dior. I trusted the purchase since they advertise that all of their items are authenticated. When I asked about the “final sale” policy, I was told it was simply due to the consignment cycle and not because of any issues with the bag.
However, once I returned to my hotel and inspected it more closely, I realized something was off. After doing some research, I discovered that the bag was missing key authenticity details such as a “Made in Italy/France” marking on the Dior tag and a proper date stamp. These are basics that any genuine Dior bag from that era would have. Instead, there is a Made in Italy stamp in a separate location inside the bag. How could they not know this was a fake and sell it as authentic?!?
I feel completely misled. I paid for what I believed was a genuine designer piece, but what I received was a counterfeit. Selling counterfeit items is illegal and I am extremely unimpressed, it should not be the consumers responsibility to authenticate goods when buying from a “reputable” seller.
Buyers beware—don’t trust their so-called authentication process, and be cautious of “final sale” items.
