1 /5 Thea Labrenz: Such a disappointing experience today at Apropo. I accompanied a friend who was looking for an outfit to wear to a funeral. *Initially*, the staff was helpful and friendly, but their attitude became much more curt after we each purchased only one item.
During our time in the store my friend tried on multiple items. (She has trouble finding clothes that she feels comfortable in, but we thought Apropo would be a good place e to start. )
Only one item worked for my friend, much to her disappointment, chagrin and dismay.
After trying on multiple outfits , and now feeling discouraged and bad about herself, she chose one item. When she left the dressing room, the owner’s immediate response was “After all those clothes , you are only buying that one item?!”.
WHAT??How totally inappropriate, and rude!
As if my friend didn’t *already* feel bad enough.
Apropo is supposed to be “classy” place. I think the owner needs to learn some class.
Ironically, we’ve heard from friends that she had uttered this same rude comment before; today we experienced it in person.
We each purchased one item . The attitude of the staff (in addition to the owner’s rudeness) between the try on time and the purchase time was noticeably more curt.
So disappointing.
