1 /5 Amber Pratt: I had an extremely disappointing experience at Zen Day Spa when trying to use a Groupon I had purchased as a gift for my mom. Despite having a valid voucher, the staff outright refused to honor it simply because my mom was unable to log in and redeem it in real-time. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, they chose to deny service altogether.
To make matters worse, the front desk staff had no authority to make any decisions without the owner, who wasn’t even onsite. Instead, I had to communicate with the owner through a bizarre setup where the staff held up their cell phone to the reception phone—completely unprofessional. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to assist was beyond frustrating.
Adding insult to injury, the staff actually laughed at my mom when she was struggling to find the “redeem” button on her voucher. This was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable gift, but instead, it turned into a stressful and humiliating ordeal.
A formal complaint has been filed with Groupon regarding their refusal to honor the voucher, and I strongly discourage anyone from supporting a business that treats customers so poorly. Save your time and money—there are plenty of other spas that actually value their customers!
