Whaleback Park - Davis (CA)

5 /5 B L: Fun little park to take the kids too. Tucked away in a neighborhood so you could drive right by it and not even realize that its there. Has a small covering with picnic tables underneath perfect for birthday parties. There is one dual water fountain off of the main path but no bathrooms located here. There is a steep concrete wall that runs along the playground that has gaurd railing on it to prevent kids from falling off the hill into the playground. Funny thing is thebkids all climbed on the inside of it as an adventure to go around the playground. Also while we were here someone had brought some rope and the kids used it to tie on the pipes and use it like the were mountain climbing. There is a nice swing set and seesaw here and a roller slide that you dont see too often now a days.

4 /5 Kilianne Kimball: Cute pocket park. Lots of amenities in small space. Enclosure fence makes it easy to take children here. Two playgrounds, benches and picnic area, water fountains. Paved path through park connecting to surrounding streets, can walk dog while kids play. No restroom (so only four stars).

5 /5 JJ S: My 18 month old loves all parks. But, this one is nice and usually fairly quiet. Swing set, big jungle gym (is that they are called?), a sandbox, and a kid-safe teeter totter. Biggest plus: its almost entirely in the shade. The downside: not any level grassy area.

4 /5 Jansen Wendlandt: Cozy neighborhood park tucked into a hillsides with trees all around. Good sized play structure that while mostly exposed to the sun, has some shade depending of time of day/year. Includes an eating area and drinking fountain, but no bathroom.

4 /5 Nishanth Mohan: The climbing/sliding apparatus certainly appropriate for ages 5 & up with hands-off supervision; also fine for younger children with hands-on supervision. Two tot swings and two standard swings. Small sand pit. Equipment is in excellent condition and park is well-maintained.
