St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church - Rohnert Park David Acord: The church interior is beautiful!
With that said, Im really disappointed with the way this church handles the blessing of sacraments. I moved into the area with my wife and newborn and wanted her to get baptized. My wife was looking to start going to church with the plan to become Catholic. On the first meeting, the issue of money was raised "people will bring in money after, weve received up to $500 once but most people give less than that". Our eyebrows were raised but we appreciate that in the Church, donations for sacraments are appreciated (but not expected). At the baptism class, this came up a second time. A few days after the baptism, I get a phone call asking why I hadnt dropped off the donation at the office, and then three days after that I got another phone call. I was sick, I had a sick baby, and the office is only open until 1pm.
My wife is now of the belief that the Catholic Church is just demanding of money, which I am trying to convince her otherwise of. This has left a sour taste in my mouth as the introduction to this parish. I didnt feel welcomed, I felt like a customer.
