1 /5 AIME AGUAYO: Took my son to get his monthly haircut. He is on the spectrum, which this place is supposed to know how to work with kids who are autistic, & is why we drive all the way to TO for a haircut. When we arrived early for our appointment & checked in, we were told to wait. A few minutes into waiting, another woman & her son arrived & a woman at the register let her go first although their appointment was 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment.
My son that day got overstimulated with the wait with other children crying & yelling. We waited almost 20 min, then by the time we were seen my son needed more coaxing to get into the chair for the haircut. He was upset, crying & wanting to leave. My sons father decided it be best to leave, even with our son crying in our arms & after shoving us aside for another customer that happen to white (I am Latina), they still demanded we pay a minimum fee before leaving.
Please please do not take your Autistic or special needs child to this salon for a haircut. I wish Jack & Jill’s in Ventura was still around. They actually knew what to do & help an autistic child during a haircut.
