Pamela L: This ship was used as a cargo ship during WWII, Vietnam and Korean Wars. It was built in Richmond, CA and is now located at the same shipyard where it was built. There are guided (takes you to the engine room) and self-guided tours; both are educational. The ship is managed by the Richmond Museum of History and the loving caretakers are volunteers. There is a small gift shop and theatre. Their existence is based on donations, pancake breakfasts, movie/hall rentals, and gift shop. The ship is not suited to persons with limited mobility. You have to walk up this steep, shaky steel ladder to get on board. Once on board, you have to walk up narrow stairs to go up and down floors. The engine rooms ladder to go down was very steep. You couldnt see the rung of the next step. If you have a phobia, this is not for you. Just avoid the engine room. Aside from that, the ship was interesting and if you are a WWII history buff, this ship is worth seeing.

vera ortiz: Great place to hike. Took our dog and backpack full of water and snacks. Make sure you keep out for ticks ! Once we got back to the car I had 2 on me. Nothing on our dog thank god. But the sights are beautiful. There’s parts of the trails where you can take your dog off the leash and let them play around which is nice.

Maria Gough: A gem of a place for dogs and dog humans alike. Large and sprawling place for dogs to roam and run free and socialize. Amazing views of the SF skyline and Marine, and fresh coastal air. Semi-fenced but definitely away from road traffic making it a safe spot for dogs to be off-leash.

Ashley Ellington: The entire park is gated so thats super good for safety. There is a nice big grass area for kicking a ball around. I wish they had slides or a climbing structure but the swings and playhouses are nice. The bathroom is closed to public due to the rona so make sure your bladder is empty. They have arts and crafts at 2 pm for the kids. Im excited for the one they are building on harbor and ohio.

Keana Anjelica Mary: If youre looking for a place that reminds you of home, this spot is a gem. As someone born and raised in San Francisco, its refreshing to find a spot in the East Bay where I can frequently visit. I love coming here for walks with my friends, family, and dogs. The fresh air, stunning views, and ample parking make it a perfect destination for a relaxing day out. Whether youre local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth checking out — you won’t regret it!
