The breakwater is designed to keep the waves away from the yachts and provides a delightful walk quite far out from the shore. The sunset sky, misty air and the constant roll of the waves make it perfect for a peaceful stroll. There are restrooms and bike rentals available and plenty of restaurants in the area.

Gustavo Espinoza Jr: I’ve been to a lot of different cities and the last thing anyone recommends me to go checkout is the courthouse. When I read online that the Santa Barbara courthouse was a must while I was in town, I figured why not go and check it out. I did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by it all. I mean just from outside, it looked really different from the superior court of Los Angeles as it was a lot smaller, but what caught my eye was how antiquated the building looked. I liked seeing the big murals on the walls and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. I found it interesting that despite its older structure, it’s still in use. Walking around inside was a lot of fun but the highlight was the tower with views of the city and everything. You can take an elevator or go up the stairs to get there. One other thing that really stood out to me about this place was the gardens right outside. There was a lot of people taking photos there or just hanging out on the lawn. I mean, they are really beautiful and well kept and seem like a great place in town to hang out and kill time. Also, the older woman at the information booth was really helpful. She narrowed down some activities for me to do while I was in the city and even recommended me places to go and eat food. She was sweet and took her time showing me a map of the city with all the points of interest. Give her a raise!

Alan Ritchie: The Douglas Family Preserve was an excellent park to go walk around. It is generally an easy place to walk around with lots of pretty scenery over the water. There were multiple people walking and with dogs (many off leash). It was definitely worth the trip and one of our favorite places to walk in Santa Barbara.

Pauli Beel: Its still beautiful and quiet. I havent been here since I was a kid. Theres a playground, bathrooms & a bridge if you dont want to walk through the creek.

Moreton Bay Fig Tree - Santa Barbara

Arielle Masters: Impressive tree. Really amazing. Came here for the virtual geocache. Unfortunately only one of the informational plaques was still there (or visible, anyway; there might be another under the low branches on the train side). And the fence, although understandable that it needs to be there, made it kind of difficult to see the tree well. Needs better signage and a nicer fence.

Hill Carrillo Adobe - Santa Barbara

Sullivan Israel: The Hill-Carillo adobe is a unique little house from 1826, like a frozen snapshot in time. It is clean and well-maintained, and has original art and antique furniture. It is a scaled-down version for the Presidio and Casa de La Guerra, but less crowded. Its also conveniently steps from State St!

Lagoon Island Labyrinth -

Dawn Marie Joseph: Parked on the campus and walked around the lagoona to find the labyrinth. Many beautiful flowers, birds, insects, people, & their pups were walking on the path. Amazing costal view with a few students out surfing in the ocean.
