1 /5 el co: I have waited several weeks from the time i got my hair dyed by Josesito because of the experience i had i wanted to make sure I wasnt angry when i was writing this.
I went in for a consult with josesito. He seemed very confident and experienced, and we agreed that getting my hair to the color i wanted would take several visits to minimize damage. He told me for that first visit, he would keep a close look over my hair & that he would wash immediately once it lifted and not a second longer.
He got my foils in fast, & He told me to process for 30 min. I thought to myself this was weird because earlier he had said hed only leave it processing for 10-15 max & that he’d be watching over it the whole time. During the 30 minutes, he took another client. He had told me i was going to be his “last client” so that he could only focus on me. At the end of 30 min he came over and said “Wow your hair is already looking so good & I think your hair will be platinum today. Then he told me just another 15. I wish I would’ve spoken up at that point but since I had asked for olaplex & knew it inhibits the lightening process and he had claimed to only use 20 volume, I just stayed quiet. At this point, HE STARTED DRINKING. If he can do good hair that is the least thing I care about, but THEN HE SAID HE WOULD BE RIGHT BACK & DROVE AWAY FROM THE SALON! I began to panic, so i took a pic w my phone so I could see it & I very quickly realized that he had ruined my hair. I wanted to leave but I still had 500 foils in my hair so I told his co-worker I needed to go home home to wash my hair out because I knew he had ruined my hair. She had to call him, & finally he walked in & said something like “Im here, I’m here, why are you so worried?! OMG she’s so worried” like trying to make me feel like I was in the wrong because he’s the pro. Its like excuse me, you just decided to leave the building in the middle of doing someones hair , what is wrong with you. He immediately washed my hair and said he would tone it in the bowl. Im sure he could sense I was irritated and wanted to leave. It didn’t tone at all in the bowl, so he said he would have to tone it afterwards, but as he was combing my hair I had to hold myself back from crying because it was coming off in huge chunks (I will include photos within a day or two, just have to get them from my cloud and add them here). Even the coworker said something to me like “Oh wow you were right your hair is breaking bad” Meanwhile, he kept telling me “Don’t worry!!” and I kept saying “I am worried. I know my hair.” I left with the toner in my hair & cried my entire way home. Long story short, I lost half of my hair.
i got home & immediately washed the toner from my hair & I was pulling huge clumps of hair from my head . If it weren’t for me having really thick hair before this, I truly think I would’ve been bald. I literally felt like a chemo patient in regard to how much hair I was losing, and I still am overly cautious with brushing my hair because there are spots where my scalp shows.. To make matters worse, he burned my scalp and the back of my neck - to the point where I had a painful rash. I had to get a cream from my doctor to make it go away.
All of this, and he still charged me $200, but he told me to come back a couple days after. I would never. I would’ve refused to pay but I was alone, he was drinking, and I didn’t feel comfortable since I was the only client in the salon and knew it might escalate. At this point, I am headed to small claims to address this in court since I had to pay another stylist to salvage the mess he created. I know that Jose knows what he did to my hair and has Never called to say sorry or offer a refund. I would NEVER let him touch my hair again nor would I recommend him to anyone.
