Melanie Sue: I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience at Mt. Vernon Winery was so astoundingly bad, I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I arrived, the place reeked of cheapness disguised as "rustic charm." The tasting room was overcrowded, understaffed, and questionably clean. Sticky counters, dusty wine bottles, and an overall lack of attention to hygiene made it feel more like a forgotten garage sale than a reputable winery. The wine? Insulting for the price. Ive had $10 grocery store bottles with more depth and character. Every glass tasted like someone had watered it down and thrown in a handful of pennies for flavor. And don’t even get me started on the outrageous prices. Its like theyre banking on tourists who don’t know any better. Sadly, some probably fall for it. Staff were either clueless or couldn’t be bothered to fake friendliness. Questions about the wine were met with blank stares or bored shrugs. At one point, I overheard a staff member mocking a guest behind their back. Classy. The worst part? There was a general feeling of neglect and disorganization that made the whole place feel…off. It didn’t feel welcoming or safe. Just uncomfortable. There are countless wineries that are warm, authentic, and worth every penny. Mt. Vernon Winery is not one of them. Save yourself the time, the money, and the bad taste in your mouth — literally and figuratively.

    S. Matthews: A nice park but a few people with dogs allowed their dogs to run freely outside the dog park. There’s a children playground area but it wasn’t being used. There are many gofer’s holes in grass, so caution is needed. The pond with ducks were pleasant to watch. Plenty of available free parking but spacing is tight.

Orly Liba: Nice park, access to trails, parking lot and a skate park. Would be great to have maps of the trails to know where to go and something to explain the views, meaning, what were looking at.

Nick Fitz: Very nice park. There is a baseball diamond, river access with swimming spots in the summer, a nice walking path that follows the river, and barbeque pits with picnic tables, a playground and swings for the kids, and a restroom. Early morning is my favorite time to walk my dog at Gansner Park.

VerĂłnica Flores De LeĂłn: 1st time here. Went kind of late. We arrived about 1 hour and a half until closing. Didnt get to see it all. I love to take pictures, really take it all in, and appreciate the beauty. So maybe it would take me 3 hour visit. The trails are fun. You do get a work out my calves were sore the next day. The staff there was so nice and helpful.

Deborah Lynn: What a wonderful experience. Our tour guide/historian was Judith. She was absolutely amazing. She truly took us back to the Victorian Era! I pictured myself in many of the rooms throughout the tour. Especially, the dining room! My two teenaged daughters were even enthralled by Judiths story telling of Catharine Bettner. The gift shop is so adorable and is a must visit as well!

Amber S: Cool state park experience, especially for kids. $3 for hourly parking, $7 for the day- be sure to have cash. The museum/visitor center is well-done and educational. The park is large with lots of areas to explore. They do offer free guided tours, but we just missed them. Definitely worth a visit!
