4 /5 C W Zeng: I had my car in for major maintenance. The invoice doesnt show how much labor costs per hour. The labor cost was 900+ for maintenance and fixing and replacing part. Overall, satisfied with the work and feels good about driving my old car. I did have to wait until the next day to get car back cuz they were super busy they said even though I got my car there by 11ish in the morning.

I am not a mechanic and both of them have always explained the cars ailment clearly and know that we just need safe cars for us and our kids to drive. 5 /5 ASM: Harry and Thomas strike me as very honest mechanics. I went to Prestige Auto for a smog certificate because they are a Star station. Harry did a preliminary check and determined that my SUV would not pass if it was tested at that time because I had just replaced the air/fuel sensor. His advise was to drive it on the freeway for a while so that the on board computer can record some data. Total charge for his time and effort - $0. Thanks, Harry. Brought my vehicle back a couple of days later and Thomas took care of me right away. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Thanks, Thomas.

Prestige is perfectly named....auto shops do not come any better in San Francisco.

3 /5 Stephanie: I have had a recurring issue of my car engine dying when in stop/go traffic. It hasnt been that much of a problem. I have been using Prestige for general maintenance. During the last routine they said the problem was due to my starter ignition switch, it needed replaced. I agree. The first quote was over $400. Its not the right part, but I paid for the labor. I drive off and my steering column is smoking. I bring it back and they make a quick adjustment. I bring it in again for the new part and pay an additional over $300 for the part, labor. Not only does it not fix problem, my radio stopped working. Throughout this entire time I tell them the type of car is known to need a bsttery grounding cable replacement. The mechanic refuses, says no way is that the problem. Im still out over $700 from work that didnt fix the problem and made it worse.
