4 /5 Gerda Ance Rieksta: This is my first time getting my nails done in the USA (I’m from Europe). I didn’t make a reservation beforehand; I simply walked into this nail salon and asked if they were available, and they took me right away. The thing is, my natural nails are very thin and short, so they suggested acrylic extensions. I was okay with it, as I usually get gel extensions and havent tried acrylic ones before.
The only thing that left me somewhat dissatisfied was that he didn’t really prepare the nail and didn’t even touch my cuticles, which was surprising (although, again, I’ve never had acrylic nails, so Im not sure how they should be prepped). Then he proceeded to attach the tips and apply acrylic powder. Everything else was fine. Oh, and I requested an almond shape, but it seems more oval to me. Anyways, we’ll see how long they last; thats my main concern when trying a new nail salon - my nails are sensitive and if theyre not prepared properly, they might come off within a few days. I guess well see. Otherwise, I’m satisfied with everything else.
The entire process only took 40 minutes, which Im not entirely sure is a good thing or a bad thing. Its quite quick, and Im curious if it might affect the quality in the long run. The total cost was $45, plus a tip, which I think is reasonable for America.
UPDATE: it’s been almost 4 weeks and everything is still good!! :)
