Onesmus Murungaru: Lovely spot! Its a place you can drive right up to on Mulholland Drive, nice and easy. And the views are absolutely breathtaking! You can see the Hollywood Bowl spread out before you, the tall buildings of downtown LA reaching for the sky, and on a clear day. Its a real treat for the eyes, a peaceful place to take it all in without having to walk far at all. You should really consider a visit!
Wan-Chu Liao: A great free railroad museum and park with kids (parking is free). Some train cabins are open to the public for walking around. You might pay $4 for taking a train ride for two rounds here.
We love to spend some time here before or after visiting LA Zoo. Great stop for the fans of trains.
Halide Ebcinoglu: Walking along Rodeo Drive is definitely an experience in itself. The sheer concentration of high-end designer boutiques is quite something to see, and the area exudes a palpable sense of glamour. I was particularly impressed by the architecture and design of many of the buildings – they truly add to the upscale atmosphere.
While its certainly not a place where I personally felt inclined to shop, it was fascinating to witness this iconic symbol of luxury and Beverly Hills. Its a great spot for a stroll and some serious window shopping (or just admiring the opulence!). If youre visiting LA, Id say its worth seeing Rodeo Drive once to soak in the unique ambiance, even if you dont plan on making any purchases. It offers a unique glimpse into a world of high fashion and extravagant living.
Jenny Garcia: If you love music, the GRAMMY Museum in downtown Los Angeles is a must-see. Spanning four floors, it takes about an hour and a half to explore and offers a deep dive into music history. One of the coolest features is the interactive sound booth, where you can sing along, and another exhibit lets you experience how music technology has evolved over the years based on the song you choose.
The museum is constantly updating its exhibits, with current highlights like How to Win a GRAMMY and a showcase on Luther Vandross. Located at L.A. LIVE, it’s easy to get to and offers a fun, immersive experience. While the exhibits are incredible, what really makes this place special is how interactive it is—it’s not just about looking at memorabilia, but truly engaging with music in a hands-on way.
Our family had such a fun time here, and if you’re in LA, I’d highly recommend adding it to your list! Whether you’re a casual listener or a music aficionado, it’s a great way to experience the art and history behind some of the world’s most iconic sounds.
Alucard Taylor: This is an interactive museum experience. Lots of exhibits and an area at the very end allow you to stage yourself inside various torture devices. It fathoms my mind how human beings with nearly infinite creativity and potential come up with such devious ways to subject other fellow humans to unspeakable pain. Might this be a lesson of the past so that we may look forward to the further march of progress of humanity and the compassionate treatment of your fellow neighbours. Mostly featuring ancient to medieval implements of pain and discomfort. An unforgettable experience.
Lynn P: Beautiful home/mansion.
Interesting history told of the Doheny family and their "neighborhood" by the docents. It must be nice to be so rich, although much was given to charity, too. We had one guide for the grounds, then a different docent for inside the house (tour includes the first floor only). Ended in a room with a great glass roof (where musical events are held sometimes). Knowledgeable guides made for an interesting morning, while the fineness of the architecture and furnishings made the tour a treat for the eyes. Well worth the $15 per person fee, which goes for the upkeep of the home.
Ruksana Hussain: Museum with exhibits from Cold War era. Small but interesting information and if you can do one of their guided tours then even better. The present exhibit on surveillance is amazing. Free to visit. They also host special events every now and then so check out their website often!
90theguy: Perfect place to spend a couple of hours and watch planes take off and land. I enjoy coming here every time Im in L.A. Theres several benches to sit and enjoy. Also theres usually parking along the side of the road. Per usual please keep this place clean.
