1 /5 Jay Valdes: After my experience with this place... I dont know why Im so surprised with the reviews Im reading posted 1-2+ years ago. Nothing has changed in regard to their horrible bedside manners at the receptionist desk.
Their communication and sympathy skills are unacceptably subpar. Yall are literally dealing with patients who are incredibly ill. Being diagnosed with cancer has other implecations; not only your physical health. Theres something called mental health as well; did your receptionists forget this? To be rudely direct with your communications is absolutely-100%-unacceptable. We missed a call from the doctors office and called back immediately. The phone conversation went something like this:
"Hi, we just missed a call from Dr. (purposely leaving their name out). Can we be connected to them please?"
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No, but we missed a call from him."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No... we just missed the call."
"Whats THE name?"
(Opposed to what whats your name, or whats the patients name)
"Its (purposely leaving their name out)..."
"Do you have an appointment with Dr. X"
"No, we do not, can we get connected with Dr. X. We just missed a call from the."
Like... Seriously? O-M-G! What this receptionist didnt know is that my mothers mental state is not good. Shes dealing with some incredibly tough situations, some manners and communication skills would be deeply appreciated. My mother accidentally deleted the voicemail that was left because her hands were shaking and unstable from being so nervous and stressed... We had come to the S. Eliseo location because they have FAILED to ask my mother if she had any allergies. She was supposed to have a CT scan, however she couldnt complete this test due to their negligence. They never prescribed her with the medications she needed to be able to take the CT scan. My mother literally has a timeline of her lifespan identified by one of their doctors. Time-is-of-the-****ing-essence here, how could you **** something like this up with a TERMINALLY ILL PATIENT?! Where is the QUALITY CONTROL?! What in the actual F is going on in this place?
If I may make a couple of suggestions. Dont forget about what your patients are going through. If youre an unhappy person, dont work for a cancer patient care facility. Everyone, especially your patients will greatly appreciate that.
