T McKC: Ticca and her staff and THE BEST in Santa Barbara for nail care. Ive been seeing Ticca for a few years now and there is NO ONE else Ive been to that has ever given me the experience I have had at her shop. The chairs are comfy furniture-type chairs, not the typical vibrating/massaging chairs, and the foot basins are lined portable tubs. They take their time with their manicures and pedicures, carefully using their tools with skill. I always feel relaxed and cared for when Im there. Prior to coming to Ticca I had acrylic nails. It took me a while to get my nails back to health but she really helped me. She suggested specific products, I used them and my nails are finally back to their strong pre-acrylic selves!! She knows what my nails need and I listen to her. She is also a great nail artist. I have given her some challenges to put onto my nails and she has gotten it done. The staff is high quality, kind and skilled. Personalized nail care, relaxing atmosphere and quality service is what you will get at One Carat. Its more of a nail spa to me, really!

Ariel Elrod: I wouldn’t call this an “upscale” salon, nor was it very relaxing… located in an older building, front door open, cars honking and little bugs lingering around me during the whole service. I got a pedicure. The technician seemed nice but was behind on time. Anyway, she told me she couldn’t cut my nails because my skin was too close to the nails, this resulting to her only using a file which took a long time, I noticed my nails were different lengths and she argued they weren’t, I just gave up. I have no understanding as to why she wouldn’t cut them as I have been getting pedicures for several years and no one has ever brought this “issue” to my attention or refused to cut my nails with clippers, I have also cut my nails myself with no “issues”…. The massage was nice, she painted my nails and did a top coat, said they were dry and I was good to go so I left. I wore sandals/was barefoot the rest of the night, I took a shower about 3 hours later and all the polish smudged all over. I also noticed my feet are very dry on the bottom still so I don’t think they have a good procedure intact for pedicures, it seemed very basic/low end. Overall, there were more negatives than positives, I feel like I wasted my time and money, I would not recommend this salon and I will not be back.

Camille Reyes: Visiting from LA, I popped in to get my nails done just to try someone new and loved my time there. Jason did a great job and was very kind. Always a little nervous about letting a new tech do my nails, but they did not disappoint and exceeded my expectations. I will definitely come back when I’m in the neighborhood again.

Cary Kresl: I’m new to Santa Barbara and tried 3 other nail salons before finding Best Nails. They are awesome! I had my first gel manicure after years of “dipping”, and I wasn’t sure if it would last as long as acrylic, but it did! It was 3 full weeks until I got a crack on my forefinger. I’m happy that gel is not as hard and damaging to my natural nail. I’ve been back 3 times now and I love working with my technician, Carrie. She is very experienced, efficient, and friendly. And the vibe of the salon is sweet and happy. I highly recommend Best Nails!

Reviews By Nitra: I visited here on a Thursday afternoon and had a lovely experience, it was my first time there. The owner did my manicure & pedicure. She’s so nice and did a nice job. Spent $80 for both. I think she also takes appointments but I was a walk in and got right in.
