1 /5 Nora Tafoya: First and the last time I go to this waterpark. My friend and I decided to take the kids to the water park and we had a great time until it was time to leave. The park closed at 5 for an event and we left shortly before. We came in separate cars and I leave before she does. Im down the street from the park at this point and she cant find her car. I see a tow truck driver drive right past me with her car and hes speeding and weaving out of traffic and Im wondering whats his rush. My friend talks to the water park staff and they show her pictures of her car parked in the wrong area which did not have any signs saying she couldnt park there and it clearly looks like a okay place to park. They had not just her car towed but at least 5 others parked around her. She purchased a parking ticket and was still towed. At this point the park is no help and they tell us to contact the towing company. By this time its almost 6 oclock. She calls the tow truck company and tells them shes on her way and she ask over the phone how much it s going to be and they tell her because its after 5pm its considered a late fee so they would have to charge a extra 100 dollars. Now I know why they were speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. They wanted to hurry and get it to their lot so they could charge late fees. When I seen the tow truck pass me as I was leaving the park it was around 5:10pm. They had her car in their possession for less then 1 hour and she had to pay over 500 DOLLARS to get her vehicle back. What was a budget friendly spot to take our kids to play during summer turned into something to break the bank. Shame on you Phoenix Towing and shame on you Island Waterpark!
