5 /5 kimi k.: I had no idea that granite was mined here until I came to this museum.I also learned the origin of the name Granite Bay.The museum is also made of granite and is in its original condition. Amazing! Its amazing that the granite buildings that were cut around 1864 are still standing.I was also surprised to learn that there was a Japanese town in this town. The woman at the museum talked to me about a lot of things and it was very helpful. The museum is small and has few exhibits, but it is packed with a wealth of history. Its only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4pm, but Im glad I came today. There are also lots of granite cut areas around the museum that you can hike through.Just looking around was very informative.
