  • What Clients Are Saying about First Congregational Church of Palo Alto (on GG)
5 /5 Lauren: Im a celiac who has worked on staff at this church for a few years now. At a certain point I wanted to take communion but there were no safe options for gluten-free people. I spoke with the communion organizers and now they offer gluten free crackers and grape juice whenever communion happens! I educated them on the concept of cross-contact, and they were very attentive about it, so I definitely feel safe here.
5 /5 Barbara Harpster: We are so thankful for having been able to use a wonderful community room at this church ! We are a group of independently working postpartum doulas who meet once a month to share knowledge, experience and support each other in our profession. This was our first opportunity to meet in person after 3 years of COVID related Zoom only meetings. What a beautiful space to have our meeting at, with a kitchen to offer hot tea etc. Thank you very much to let us use your facility ! Barbara
5 /5 Kimberley Blanding: First Congo church has been such a blessing for our family. My 3 boys enjoy going to church, the youth group, vacation bible school summer camp, family events, and the annual plays. Dave, our pastor, has done a wonderful job transitioning to virtual worship while still keeping it engaging. The music and choir is amazing. We are so lucky to have found this welcoming, family-friendly church that we all love.
5 /5 Julie OGrady: We love the First Congregational Church. I was first exposed to FCCPA by attending their awesome Spring Musicals. (These are a must-see.) When our daughter was around five years of age, we decided to participate in one of the church services as we wanted a good wholesome, progressive environment to raise our daughter. We fell in love with the church, the pastors, and especially the community. First Congo is the place where we belong. Although I never thought I would be a “church retreat goer,” I look forward to them every year and cherish the special bonds created during our gatherings. We’ve hosted fundraising events like wine tastings and Fondue parties and have participated in events like caroling down Christmas Tree Lane. There is Vacation Bible School, family camping trips, youth groups, and lots more for the kids. I find myself looking forward to church and Dave’s weekly sermons. And the music is second to none! Each week we get to listen to Joe, our outstanding, talented organist and music director, to one-of-kind soloists, the church choir, and sometimes a Blues band. I have made forever friendships from folks at First Congo and love this open and affirming environment that I’m proud to call my community. If you are looking for a unique church community, I’d give us a try and make sure to let people know that you are new so we can welcome you with open arms.
5 /5 Anna Yee: My husband and I have been members of this church for 25 years. We have participated in many of the activities offered: Board Membership Pick-a-Parties, Vacation Bible School, Youth Mission Trips, Biblical Musical Plays, etc. My favorite times are those spent with the children of the Congregation. The children are given extraordinary opportunities to grow in spirit in a safe place where they can ask questions and get answers that make sense. It is a great environment for the family to widen their spiritual life.

Sang Shin: My heart will always call University AME ZION my home church, no matter where I live in this world. It is truly a place where love knows no boundaries, no borders, no divisions. I am a Korean, my wife is Jewish and we were both welcomed from day one as part of a caring family. In fact, my wife and our son were baptized at this blessed place of worship. I would thoroughly encourage anyone thinking about dropping by to take the leap - you won’t regret it.

Michael Bloem: Ive been a member at Grace Pres for 5+ years. I love Grace for many reasons: - strong focus on the good news about what Jesus did throughout all aspects of the church, - preaching that sticks close to the text of the Bible while seeking to be relevant to mature Christians as well as those unfamiliar with the faith, - beautiful musical worship often featuring old hymn texts set to more contemporary tunes, - a service that includes some liturgy, such as a time of confession and renewal, - many committed Christians who are willing to admit that theyre messy works in progress who are in need of Gods grace.

Chris Favero: I am so sad that I tried contacting the church after visiting and discovered that like so many companies these days, there is no way to reach anyone on their website. You can register to participate and donate, but absolutely no way to talk to anyone. That is awful!!!!
