5 /5 Beth Slykeson: What a beautiful park! There are big grass fields, poles for volleyball, a disc golf course, huge playgrounds for toddlers and older children (complete with slides, swings, climbing walls, monkey bars and more), sheltered picnic tables, and even a roller hockey court! I cant believe I never noticed this park on the back side of Whitehead elementary. What an absolute gem. There is unfortunately some vulgar graffiti on the play structures and some of the tables. Also, street parking was the only option I saw. For a handicapped accessible parking space you may look at the school parking lot nearby if school is out.

5 /5 MissyLo Wolf: Havent been to this park in years but I recently moved back "home" and needed a place to sit and eat in peace with my dogs. Very clean, I came around noon, no homeless present. My dog did poop and I cleaned it up, saw others walking dogs as well.

5 /5 Caitlin Blackburn: Went here two days in a row because our 5 year old loved it so much! Lots of room and structures to play on, a small splash area for hot days, and a small free library box where we found a cute book. Plan to come here again for sure!

Museum of the Forgotten Warriors - Marysville

David Klein: Best museum I’ve ever seen! The collection of military uniforms, weaponry, artifacts, and assorted memorabilia is extensive yet highly personalized. The amount of work that the volunteer veteran staff has put into this enormous collection is an incredible testament to their dedication and is a huge honor to the memory and service of our veterans.

Ori Big: Outside is beautiful but unfortunately all door locked and closed, I remember a few years ago I’ve got there but it was closed too. There is no sign or explanation, just seems the back side is under restoration.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park -

K9 Life Coach Scott: Beautiful canyon, with lots of talks and camping. I didnt get to camp. You can spend all day doing whatever. Im sure this place gets really busy, so be aware. Los of camping options, with clamping and camping. Bird watching. Good "Trading Post". Look for the Indigenous History there. Its important to understand that this is Kiowa and Comanche homelands. Why it was taken and how it happened. Its important to them. They do talks as well there.

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum - Canyon

Trina Stephenson: Amazing History Museum across many disciplines. Geology, art, paleontology, history, and interesting special collections of textiles, guns, cars and the history of oil exploration. Very educational and you can easily spend a day or two here. I liked the fact that they had a STEAM education area, not STEM. Arts are necessary! Also, there is a great art collection here.

San Pedro Creek Culture Park - San Antonio

Charlie Girl-915: I wanted to explore someplace different with my dog. Its a lovely creek, but I dont recommend going by yourself. Unfortunately, there is a high homeless population in the area. I was surprised to not see many walkers along the creek, but I did see homeless people, and they probably have mental illness, God Bless them. I would have enjoyed it more if I had someone else with me. I had to be on high alert and not able to enjoy the creek as much as I would have liked to.

Natural Bridge Caverns - San Antonio

Matt Garcia: The caves were cool and the kids enjoyed it. But what we really loved was the Twisted Trails ropes course. This is a huge adventure course where you are safely secured to a harness and get to zip line and climb through different zones. They also had a maze for the little ones and other fun things to do after the cave tour. Check it out!

San Antonio Bat Colony - San Antonio

Richie: Very nice place to see bats in San Antonio! There were probably close to 2,000 bats when we were there. It is a nice walk and there is free 2 hour parking just down the street. Dont forget to check out The Grotto while you are in the area.
