Red M & M: I go here to pass out food, water, and clothing to those in need and that are living at the park. Its pretty safe during daytime hours. Sometimes, theres action, but its normal. Lol. The people are appreciative for the most part. If they dont want something, theyll let you know.
Bruce S.: Wow, the Japanese American Museum is amazing. Though its not huge, theres a lot to see. Theres information and photos from J-town in the past. The 442nd regimental combat team with their motto "Go For Broke". They were the most decorated combat team in WWll. They rescued "The Lost Battalion" from Texas. Theres a lot of information and photos from the internment of Japanese Americans, including a replica of an internment barrack.
There was also a Kimono exhibit when I went, but I think that the exhibit is over now.
Theres also a section on Redress with information and photos.
It was very touching to tour the museum and Id recommend that you visit the museum!!
Thuy Pham: Our tour guide, Jesse, was super enthusiastic with great facts and interesting stories. His energy kept the tour fun! Weve lived in San Jose for a long time but there were still a lot we did not know about. We loved it!
Marc Dewey: I was disappointed to find this place closed, despite the website and the sign on the actual building saying it was open, especially after paying $10 for parking. I visited during the SJMADE Fest, which may have been the reason (I didnt know this was going on). I understand the difficulty of keeping regular hours with volunteer operations, but I would check ahead if theres an event going on in the park because things might be closed randomly without warning.
Adam Nelms: WAY TO STRICT on brining your own food or snack in. Im a parent with kids and I cant bring in carrots/apples and peanut butter or some Goldfish in for a snack so I dont have to buy your WAY overpriced snacks ALL day long. Actual water park was nice, cement sidewalks burn your feet (could use misters), several slides closed on a Friday when we went. No alcohol is a bummer too.
D C: If you are a history buff or interested in the history of the city you are staying at, you must take a tour here.
Scott and Sarah are great guides and the behind the scenes stories are wonderful.
