5 /5 RODRIGUEZ Hazel “Haz”: I played in this park as a child. So I love the area that its in and it is very peaceful and quiet. And that big old tree, I used to climb that as a kid.I really loved to be able to come back and see the park was still there.

5 /5 Traveler In Motion: This is a nice small community park in the West end neighborhood across the street and down the block from the Franco-American bakery. There is a small young childrens playground, a small basketball playing area, a small lawn, a few picnic tables with barbecue pits, and some bocce ball courts. This Park is also home to my favorite tree.

Steven Jetton: Extremely small parking lot. Sometimes, I have to park on the street when it is available. Otherwise, it is a park that has a playground for children, a basketball court, a picknick with barbecues and benches for eating, a tetherball or volleyball court, a small skateboard area with a small ramp, some raised edges for doing tricks, and a grassy area for other activities. Bathrooms are portapoties, no sinks for washing hands.

Pepperwood Preserve - Santa Rosa

Sandy M: Came here on for a class to learn about mushrooms. It’s a gorgeous facility with breathtaking views. We hunted for mushrooms and collected samples for the center to use as data for their research. That day we found 50+ different species, ranging from chanterelles, lion’s mane, oyster mushrooms and so forth. Be aware, this is a non-profit nature preserve and you need to check the schedule for events open to the public - you aren’t able to just show up anytime.

Luther Burbank Home & Gardens - Santa Rosa

briantravelman: Gardens were nice, but nothing worth making a special trip for. The house was unimpressive. Maybe if wed gone inside and taken a tour, wed feel different. We have something similar in our own town, thats maybe even nicer, so it was pretty underwealming.

Snoopys Home Ice - Santa Rosa

Roberta Peek: I was in the area visiting the museum and saw the Peanuts characters continue across the street so checked it out. The shrub outside shaped like Snoopy. Charlie Brown statue dressed in hockey garb. Further down near the gift shop is a Woodstock dressed as a referee and another Snoopy. As well as a star in the sidewalk for Charles Shultz. Inside the ice arena there is a cafe that is super cute with Peanuts decor from stained glass, to drawings to cartoons that line the walls. Also, the table frequented by Charles Shultz is memorialized there. From the cafe you can look on to the ice and view all the activities going on there. Its a neat place.

Anna Rushanian: Jack London State Park is an incredible place where history comes alive amidst nature. Although the writer’s house was destroyed by fire, the ruins still hold a unique atmosphere. Walking through this park is truly inspiring, offering a chance to connect with the legacy of a great author. The silence, historic structures, and beautiful surroundings create an indescribable sense of peace and connection to the past. Highly recommended for a visit

And I walked away wanting to try to make acorn bread :) recommend calling or writing ahead of time as you do need to let them know in advance if you’re coming by.
